Conceptually great, yes, Steve. In reality, ummm.
I can only whisper this now...

Lol. Those of us with connection problems are having a little more than, "fiddle factor."Uh, since it's Sunday no one is available at Provape offices to receive or respond to email.
A day or two within "normal working hours" is pretty standard time to receive a response---even when one has an ongoing ticket, from my experience.
I have both type of connectors, P3 on a Nauti and 510 on Kabuki. I opted for the 510 Kabuki as I was eager to get a Kabuki AND it was the only one available at that time......and I like the versatility of being able to use with other devices (including older Provi's). I do like the look of not having the thin beauty ring of the P3 thread with the Nauti and a P3 version is certainly of interest, especially when these occasional small bugs get sorted out. The beefier connection is quite nice, too.
I use my Kabuki's a lot -- and yes, very occasionally there is some fiddle factor when I go to refill or change a coil. . Am I surprised? Heck, no. IMHO that's vaping --- either fiddle a bit here and there or go back to blu. There is no refillable atty, tank or RBA that is completely fiddle free. Nauti's and Kabuki's are darn close.
Better than a dripper/squonker?In getting ready for the long day ahead of us, I loaded up the Kabuki (on P3, 3rd tank full on current coil) SS tank with J.C. Original. 1.6 (dials @ 1.8) ohm new style BVC @ 3.7 volts. I just can't believe the flavor...delicious!
Only for HB who has an in with a cerakote guy.So am I correct that there is no black steel tank for the Kabuki from any source?
How do we know if it is the P3 pin which is too short on some P3 threaded ProVari, or if it is the bases on the Kabuki which are sometimes slightly too long?
Kat, I did some playing around this morning, and as a result send ProVape a very long inquiry, which I won't bore everyone here with. Bottom line, my three P3 Kabukis work in my two Ti P3's and not in my three standard P3's. Using a digital caliper I measured the top cap on the Ti P3's at 1.53mm and the standard P3's at 1.55mm. I did it multiple times and came up with the same number each time.
My conclusion, and this is way past my skill at pushing words and numbers around, is ProVape didn't cut the threads far enough in the standard P3's. If ProVape would have gone just a tiny bit deeper, the Kabuki would sit tight on the top cap and the pins would make connection.
Does anyone remember reading about connection issues with P3 K4s or P3 Nautilus tanks? Is this why Aspire no longer makes P3 Nautilus tanks?
I really like the concept of p3 threading, but I think there will always be issues when using Disposable coils, which can be irregular...
It's neither. It's the depth that the P3 threading is cut into the P3 top cap.
I have 4 P3s and a 2.5 Ti. The only one I don't have the paper gap on is the most recent acquisition the P3 Stealth. I'm not sure it means the issue has been corrected by ProVape, or if I just got lucky recently (or unlucky the previous 4 purchases).
Yes, some people have had issues with other P3 threaded atties. You can actually see the difference in how deep the threads were cut in these pictures from the KF v4 thread. There's almost a full set of threads more on my stealth compared to my other 3 P3s and 1 2.5 Ti.
I will say, however, that I've had more issues with my 510 Kabuki then with both my P3 Kabukis together. Although the 510 Kabuki issues are usually easier to correct (tighten the 510 center pin) then it is to correct the P3 Kabuki issues (pull pin and wrap floss).
RC, other than the 510 pin issues with the Kabuki, have you had other problems?
Lol. Those of us with connection problems are having a little more than, "fiddle factor."
It's Monday and not a holiday that I know of... lol
Agreed on the "fiddle factor" with some of the P3 kabuki's.
Now it's Monday --- out here in the left coast it was Sunday when I wrote that.
I believe it's mad vapes who sells those teeny thin circuit board thingy spacers that fit in a 510 for aiding with connection problems.....work great with a 2.5, but probably too much hassle for the failing kabuki/p3 connections as it would probably get lost on the first refill. A piece of copper foil might be an OK gerry-rig?
Kim at ProVape called. I'll be honest. I didn't much care for her attitude. Her solution is below. I don't think this is a reasonable solution to the problem. I don't that I have to pay, and I don't like the threat. Am I being unreasonable or is ProVape? You guys let me know what you think. Thanks.
Hi Paul,
I just copied and pasted my reply from September 10th on ticket# 70926. Please let me know if you're still not receiving our emails on that ticket.

I think perhaps you are over personalizing the instructions. Also, Provape can't really tell what the issue is without actually seeing your devices. I hope you can work through this and get your issues resolved. Sugar attracts more bees than vinegar.
