I stopped a 30 p/day Marlb Red habit from one day to the next (without even really wanting to/ or trying ...) with one of those sh***y $ 9.99 throw-away's picked up as an afterthought at the checkout counter...
Granted though that after about two weeks of buying those I quickly "moved "on to a 510 Janty Dura with cartridges that I used to top-off with a bottle of 18mg eliquid.. then on to an ego+carto ...I probably would have relapsed if I hadnt found at least that to move on to (and this was 5 yrs ago when there wasnt as much choice available

) but suffice it to say...you dont necessarily need to sub-ohm to be able to quit effortlessly
Vaping is an evolution more then a revolution.
And humans are all different and I think that gets forgotten alot here. Some people love shellfish. Some people don't care one way or the other. Some people hate shellfish. Some people die if they eat it. We all except that this is true but may think vaping is one size fits all.
And we all quit smoking differently. We had a truck driver at work that quit smoking one day just by not lighting up but he ALWAYS had a cigarette in his hand and a pack in his pocket. He's retired but last I knew it was 20 years he walked around with a unlit cigarette in his hand (changed as needed).
As vaping has evoled more people have been able to use it as a quitting method. Old fashioned ejuice was very heavy with PG. I'll only speak for myself but PG in even very small ammounts makes my chest feel like I vaped Drano. Now smoking caused problems to be sure but how long do you think I was gonna do something that made me feel like my chest was on fire?? Clearly not long.
So vaping was a dead issue for me.
Then 4-5 years ago I'm in Florida and this place at a Flea Market is pushing VG juice saying that ecigs may work for people who can't take the PG.
A seed was planted but time was short and back to NY. Vape shops were very rare then but I knew where one was. The owner was very pro PG and anti cloud and I was desperate to quit smoking. With a new bride and new life I wanted to be around for awhile so money changed hands (ALOT of money by todays standards) and a desperate man was a vapor. Except his throat was burnt. And he was thirsty. And he would have swore on a stack of bibles PG was equal parts Drano/Napalm/Kerosene. And he couldn't get any nicotine off those tiny puffs. I could literally stand there and vape 18mg juice and smoke a cigarette on my break like it was nothing. I was chain vaping high nic juice and chain smoking. At the end of the dual use phase I was smoking 2 PAD and pushing 7ml of 18ml juice a day.
But the hand to mouth thing had a solution. I was very happy vaping. The mind game was over. Now to take the body to task. I had figgered out by now that PG was a big problem and high VG juice was not to be found in NY so I started making my own. Now power becomes a problem. And wicking. And a bunch of other things. Getting tootle tanks to work with VG is tough. And things were very expensive so if you had a battle against PG you better have been prepared to spend some coin. And use a Dremel with diamond bits. I don't think very many people were willing to do this. I know now that RBA's would have worked but I didn't know anyone who did anymore then do the try/fail thing with store bought PG juice stuff and the innerweb didn't dawn on me to be honest.
Then subohm came to town for the masses. I realize now that many here on ECF have been subohm for years but ike I said, I didn't know about the innernet.
So I went mass market subohm. I learned real quick PG at subohm is a no go for me. I also learned that subohm puts the nic right where its needed and what nic sick was. I'd been drinking 12-18mg stuff for so long like it was tap water I just started subohming it. Learned me up real quick that did. Found that the feeling of being "full" was part of what was missing along with the hand to mouth and nicotine. And oh lord the nicotine. I'm still pretty hooked I guess but back then I was an outright addict. I found I could blast the nic right in and not think about it for hours. I only use low nic high power setups for when I'm in a situation where I have to get my fill and go without for sometime. For when I'm doing nothing, like watching TV, and am gonna be chain vaping I switch to a Kabuki/Nautilus/Kayfun setup with 12mg. I can chain vape and drink coffee until I go to bed so I'm lucky in that regard. Since my bladder has killed the sleeping through the nite thing for me I keep a subohm set up next to the bed for round the clock vaping.
Am I addicted to vaping?? I don't know, studies have shown that...........................are you kidding me?? I'm a stone cold vaping addict. I have different setups for every situation. I can function much better these days. If I can't vape I don't vape. When I smoked I was that sneaky smoker you have heard about. When I tootle puffed high PG I was the guy sneaking a puff allover the place. Now as long as I can get to a vaping area (I call it a vaping area because in the last 2 years every single one of us except one guy subohms on break) I can take afew big rips and I'm good. I have been in situations I had to go long periods without a vape and lets just say I ain't there yet..............................
So to me the vaping world now includes the tootle puffing PG vapers and now ME!!!!!
I am kinda currently under the vaping gun but its not even my fault. Some people are stealth vaping at work, younger people, and they are using some stinkie vape, RY4 I think. The smell is real bad and the non-smokers/vapers are up in arms. So management to on the hunt for vapers. And I blow the biggest cloudz so they are on me like white on rice. But I only vape scent free juice (carefully choosen to be such) and only in the approved areas so I'm legal. But as these stealth vapers continue to stink up very expensive equipment (we have a half million dollar piece of equipment that REEKS of RY4) they are just gonna ban vaping outright on site. I have taken these guys aside but they swear vape has no smell out of CE4's and such. So the end draws near. Hopefully by then I can go a full shift.
