wow, between you and the iPhone those are great pics.
It's a pity that the device is poorly finished. I don't have a Dremel, so not sure how I'd go about deburring it.
I've built small attys, such as byLeo's Sophia. But, they started by being well machined.

Thank You :)

YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

Blokey, that was an outstanding lesson (in.... ummm....... how to drive yerself mad in one easy lesson?). Your pics, once again, spot on perfection. Thank you for doing that (for all of us)!!!

Glad to see the head banger came in handy. ;)

So yeah, I've got a question.......

Have you ALWAYS been cray-cray?

(Truly a work of art tho, kiddo. Kudos!)
ROFLMAO yeah I had a gut feeling I would need that "head banger" when I finally took the plunge.
It truly was a head banging experience and took me ages to figure out the right bends and lengths for the legs, but now I know, it should be relatively head bang free for future coils.

And Yes, I've Always been "cray cray"

Wub

Wow! GREAT job, Blokenator!!!!! Somebody STICKY dat!

Seriously - if ever I wanted to attempt such an endeavor, this is EXACTLY what I'd be looking for. Simply phenomenal, both the work and the presentation.

Thank you, SIR.
G'day matey. And Thankyou for the kudos

It's a pleasure doing this stuff for ALL You EFC members and exactly the kind of info I look for during a research session.

I couldn't find much about this tiny little rba when I did some google searches except for a few youtube clips that were ok..but never enough to satisfy my curiosity.

To have this info stickied so it's easy to find for others would be a very positive thing.
But hopefully googles search engine will pick up the "VVTF V2 RBA" name and include this thread in it's search results.

Cheers mate :toast:

Nice work!! I still have to deburr mine. I've been practicing my coil building with it since I first posted about it.

How smooth are the threads since you dremeled them? I wasn't sure what type of bit to use with it so thanks for showing it!
Thanks matey.
The mildly abrasive tool I used took all of the machining burrs away very quickly, cleaned and smoothed the threads, and added a nice matt finish overall.

Because of the "lopsided" design of the threads it's very easy to cross thread when screwing the Kabuki back together and can be quite fiddly to get right even with the threads cleaned and burrs removed. NOT a user friendly bit of kit!

And if someone trying this hasn't got a Dremel then I'm sure a good work over with a chunk of steel wool would achieve decent results :thumb:

I have Very shaky hands and it's hard to hold a camera still enough to take even normal pics...but after a few beers they stop shaking. Moral of the story is to get half drunk before taking macro pictures LOL :D

And as far as finish goes, it's not horrible, but it does need at least a basic clean up to help assure smooth threading into the Kabuki. Try some steel wool matey :)

And I'd just like to say I feel humbled again to have received so many "likes" on my pictorial.
It means a lot to me to know it potentially helps so many other wonderful ECF members.

This place Rocks!

You Blokes/Blokettes Rock!!

And I forgot to say it's been up and running for a whole tank of juice, and so far no leaks so I musta got my wicking close to right on first attempt

Flavour wise, it doesn't taste quite as good as the aspire coils. BUT there's not a lot of difference.

Being a horizontal coil build means the wick goes through the centre of the coil and the air flow picks up the vapour from the outside of the coil.
The aspire BVC coils work the opposite way and the air flow picks up the vapour through the centre of the coil.

What does this mean for end result flavour?
I don't know how these tiny details affect the flavour on a "scientific" level..but I do know what I taste and how my Kabuki feels draw wise.

I've needed to readjust my AFC screw several times to zoom in on the best overall experience for me, and I've settled on 11 watts (1 ohm coil), and loose MTL draw to give me My perfect vape.

Am I disappointed at all, and would I go back to using aspire premade coils?
Absolutely Not!

But then I'll reiterate that I'm a tinkerer, and enjoy the process of rebuilding my atty's rather than simply screwing in a new premade coil..at $3.50 AUS per coil which is ridiculously expensive for something I only get about 3 days max from.

This rba gives me the option of using the same coil for many more days (dry burn and clean), and only needing to change the wick (less than a cent, and 10 mins of my time) every few days, so for me personally it's a no brainer..and I'll be buying at least one more of these little rba's from a local ECF member who doesn't use hers, so I can have a spare coil ready to screw in at a moments notice.

This has been a wonderful journey of learning for me, and I can't thank ECF and it's incredible members enough for not only helping me quit the stinkies, but also for the camaraderie and friendship I experience here

I HAVE to think that's a friend of ours, si? The gender and tendency to hoard (regardless of need) is ringing a very familiar bell.

Begins with a "K"?

If so, you're in phenomenally good hands. :thumb:

Good on you. I can't stand those things. :)

I spend about $100 a year on factory coils and $100 is a small price to pay to avoid any WWTF aggravation. I will likely get rid of my two RBAs as well as I can't see me bothering with them when I have lots of Crowns and Subtanks and their RBAs are a dream to build compared to the VVHF (or whatever it is called).

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

Love the Bitmoji!!

Phil, you really did such an outstanding job, and you're thanking US?? I'd love that post to be stickied as well. Ya never know who's going to come along and feel like giving it a try. Your tutorial is EXCELLENT!

You could, should the desire hit you, start a dedicated VVTF thread!

I've hung garlic cloves all around mine to protect me from it, but I still admire a job well done.

Especially when it's one I could never dream of succeeding at.

I honestly believe it would be easier to coil/wick my Tsunami RDA blindfolded. And I'm being serious.

This.

@Valkyrie_kara and @iBloke, I'm impressed. You both have crazy dexterity and lots of determination. For me personally, I'm just at... well, if the WTF? was the only thing I had and I was locked up in prison, sharpening toothbrushes to dig away at the bricks in my cell to build my escape tunnel which would be ready in only 40-50 years, then, probably, I'd join you and be rebuilding WTFs.

Short of that scenario, just no. No. Not for me. Trying to rebuild that thing is one of the most frustrating, time consuming, and annoying wastes of my time I've ever experienced (and this is coming from someone who used to do the blue aquarium foam + straw mod in cartos circa 1492 or so).

I'm not saying I hate the WTF, but I hate the WTF. I'm also not that in love with ECF's ridiculous auto-censor. I mean seriously, \/\/TF? it reminds me of a hall monitor in grade school gone berserk (the auto-censor, not the glorious \/\/TF, that's more like a hazing).

Excellent breakdown @iBloke as it caused me to order two of those infernal devices. can't be much harder than building on a Kayfun, and I used to rebuild Vivi Novas back in the day...
Also purchased three of the titanium Kabuki clones to join the one I bought for my fiancee, and three Classic ProVaris to join the one I recently bought (and she confiscated for her own use).

Granted, all that stuff isn't for me. I finally convinced my cousin to join the dark side. (Puff a ProVari and Lumen Sees Totus), so he's getting two of the classics, a red/black and a zombie as backup, and two of the Kabuki clones are his as well. I told him he didn't need two ProVari's. He insisted that he breaks stuff.
(edit: also ordered him a five pack of replacement tank glass, lol)

I told him that I'd only ever seen two ProVari's destroyed beyond repair. One was recovered from a house that burned to the ground and the other was run over, chewed up, and spat out by a lawn mower.

Caveat Emptor: The two reviews I found for the titanium Kabuki clones indicated that the P3 threading on them wasn't up to snuff, and it didn't work on their ProVari's. Although there was a response from Fasttech indicating that they should work on the P3 and replacement bases were sent. The thread was never updated. I will be checking to see if that issue was resolved.
$21.01 Kabuki Ti Styled Tank Clearomizer - 5ml / 1.6ohm (3.3-4.2V) / titanium alloy + glass / 22mm dia. at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Edit: I would have purchased at least one Authentic Titanium Kabuki from ProVape, following my usual procedure of order the clone to test the concept, then buy the original to reward the creator...but they are out of stock.
