Thank You
YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
Blokey, that was an outstanding lesson (in.... ummm....... how to drive yerself mad in one easy lesson?). Your pics, once again, spot on perfection. Thank you for doing that (for all of us)!!!
Glad to see the head banger came in handy.
So yeah, I've got a question.......
Have you ALWAYS been cray-cray?
(Truly a work of art tho, kiddo. Kudos!)
ROFLMAO yeah I had a gut feeling I would need that "head banger" when I finally took the plunge.
It truly was a head banging experience and took me ages to figure out the right bends and lengths for the legs, but now I know, it should be relatively head bang free for future
coils.
And Yes, I've Always been "cray cray"
Wub
Wow! GREAT job, Blokenator!!!!! Somebody STICKY dat!
Seriously - if ever I wanted to attempt such an endeavor, this is EXACTLY what I'd be looking for. Simply phenomenal, both the work and the presentation.
Thank you, SIR.
G'day matey. And Thankyou for the kudos
It's a pleasure doing this stuff for ALL You EFC members and exactly the kind of info I look for during a research session.
I couldn't find much about this tiny little
rba when I did some google searches except for a few youtube clips that were ok..but never enough to satisfy my curiosity.
To have this info stickied so it's easy to find for others would be a very positive thing.
But hopefully googles search engine will pick up the "VVTF V2 RBA" name and include this thread in it's search results.
Cheers mate
Nice work!! I still have to deburr mine. I've been practicing my coil building with it since I first posted about it.
How smooth are the threads since you dremeled them? I wasn't sure what type of bit to use with it so thanks for showing it!
Thanks matey.
The mildly abrasive tool I used took all of the machining burrs away very quickly, cleaned and smoothed the threads, and added a nice matt finish overall.
Because of the "lopsided" design of the threads it's very easy to cross thread when screwing the Kabuki back together and can be quite fiddly to get right even with the threads cleaned and burrs removed. NOT a user friendly bit of kit!
And if someone trying this hasn't got a Dremel then I'm sure a good work over with a chunk of steel wool would achieve decent results
wow, between you and the iPhone those are great pics.
It's a pity that the device is poorly finished. I don't have a Dremel, so not sure how I'd go about deburring it.
I've built small attys, such as byLeo's Sophia. But, they started by being well machined.
I have Very shaky hands and it's hard to hold a camera still enough to take even normal pics...but after a few beers they stop shaking. Moral of the story is to get half drunk before taking macro pictures LOL
And as far as finish goes, it's not horrible, but it does need at least a basic clean up to help assure smooth threading into the Kabuki. Try some steel wool matey
And I'd just like to say I feel humbled again to have received so many "likes" on my pictorial.
It means a lot to me to know it potentially helps so many other wonderful ECF members.
This place Rocks!
You Blokes/Blokettes Rock!!
