Absolutely;
Once you have decent enough hardware to work with, its a matter of getting a few good flavors; plus you can customise your flavor; can't do that with cigarettes.

With cigarettes, smokers stick to one brand; switching brands just tends to make it taste bad because it does taste bad, but if you stick to one brand it becomes an acquired taste.
With vaping you can switch between different good flavors and even enjoy them more as a result.

Major UPGRADE from smoking.

vaping is just so much better in almost every aspect. I used e cigs and analogs for about a month together so that I would smoke less analogs, in that time I started to like analogs less and less. Now I haven't lit anything on fire in two weeks and it's awesome.

I don't know how anyone can prefer analogs over a good quality device and atomizer. Besides for the convenience factor anyway.

When I got into vaping, e liquid seemed to be a substitute for analogs. Just good enough to keep me off them, but recently, after having quit analogs for so long, I actually tried an analog, and honestly, it was pretty nasty, and went right back to smoking my ry4, which is so much better. This was quite surprising, I never thought that I would actually enjoy vaping more than the "real thing". Anyone else feel this way?

Yes! Vaping is has become so much tastier and satisfying than cigarettes ever were for me. I'm glad you've found that to be true as well. That's exactly why vaping has been so successful for giving up the cigarettes, not just for me, but for a very large number of people. It's just better. Congrats!

If there wasn't a thread from last hour that is entirely similar to this one, I'd concur with the opinions here, as I prefer vaping to logs/smoking.

Yet, smoking has some things over vaping as noted on the other thread. Namely social aspect and ease of use. And taste for logs is acquired. I still don't get how (ex)smokers wouldn't be first to recognize this. People who claim they liked taste of smokes from very first drag they had are challenging to believe, but also impossible to argue with. Yet, once that taste is acquired, it is challenging to then argue that it is not an aspect of smoking that is enjoyed.

With all that said, I do prefer vaping over smoking and I do both, albeit 98% vaping and 2% smoking.

The number of new members coming to share their similar sentiment about the vaping vs. smoking is awesome. More of us are "getting it." So many people are understanding that not only is vaping an alternative, for many of us, it is a "better" alternative that makes it less of a "quitting cigs" scenario and more of a "I don't even LIKE cigs anymore--they're gross" type of change. It's so exciting to hear of these stories.

Congrats to all our new members and we wish you great success in their journeys. And, we are all here to help you along the way with support, advice, and commiseration. :vapor:

The only reason I quit smoking was because I preferred my ecig to the analog.

When I bought my ecig I did so without the intent of quitting smoking. I was simply looking for a supplement to use during the times where smoking was either really inconvenient or not permitted. Once I found the right gear and juice I started preferring my ecig to the real thing, and eventually just quit smoking because they weren't satisfying me anymore.

I wonder if RJ Reynolds is following this thread??

This specific thread? Maybe. They are definitely following the industry though...

Similar story, I liked smoking, did not intend to give up, preferred vaping. Don't like cigarettes anymore because they smell and kill you, now I can vape all day at work, no smell, no damage (as far as I am aware) and no ashtray. The only thing I miss, is not putting a ... behind my ear :D

I've always loved the taste of a few brands of cigarettes, and I mean LOVED. I don't think I loved it on the first drag ever, some 20 years ago, but I quickly learned to love it.
Some two years ago, when I first tried ecigs, there was no comparison. I had a bunch of flavors like RY4 and others considered popular, and between that and my JoyETech thingie - there was NO way that was replacing smokes. I can't even say i enjoyed the taste of ecigs. I just did it for awhile because at work, it saved me some time from having to run out to have a smoke.

This time around, though, like you, something bizarre happened.
Between my Provari and better flavor reproduction in the same juices I had the first time -- every cigarette I tried to smoke (because I missed it) tasted HORRID. Wretched.
Disgusting.
I tried no less than 10 times -- and after squashing it out after 2-3 drags because of the unbearable taste, I quit altogether. I smoked because it tasted wonderful (though I always hated the smell) -- and if it doesn't taste good, there was no benefit for me if I can't get the nicotine elsewhere. None.
I've since upgraded to a King mod since and between that and some really amazing juices that are so delicious, I've never looked back.

But I am still shocked that I couldn't stand the taste of a smoke. I'm ruined, haha! :p
