When I got into vaping, e liquid seemed to be a substitute for analogs.
I use e-liquid as a substitute for 'cigarettes' and other forms of tobacco. See, I'm am so new I still call 'cigarettes' ...... 'cigarettes' ....... and these little tools ........ 'my new cigarettes'.
Analog? I have yet to find how, when or where it was first used to described 'cigarettes'. I would love to know if by chance anyone can refer me to the origin so I may do some reading on it; it doesn't apply by any definition I am aware of, but there is no doubt plenty I do NOT know!
E-Cigarette makes sense, but ........... 'Topper'? Because it sits atop a battery I presume? To me? 'Topper' is a character from the 50's or so on a TV show called.... "Topper" and it was based on film from 1937 also named, "Topper". We watched a lot of old TV while waiting for orders to go "blow someone up". 'Topper' was also painted in a special place on special 'tool' I enjoyed using to execute the task. Ain't no 'Topper' goin' on anything I stick near MY head!
'Analog'? I did read, "because it is the old way". That's a stretch and 'The Urban Dictionary' is a joke yes?
Tom
EDIT: Oh Thanks 'PM' (name withheld for fear of embarrassment) ..... this helped a lot!

Analog Cigarette:
"The common traditional cigarette, a crude, old-fashioned nicotine delivery device, consisting of processed tobacco wrapped in a paper tube, from which smoke is inhaled after being lit."
"So named to differentiate it from the more modern and less harmful electronic cigarette."
"Dude, you're still smoking analog cigarettes? Get with the tech and vape, man!"
