I have not read all of these posts in this thread, but that statement about the OP possibly being a hypochondriac was just plain, outright rude and degrading!!! I love this forum and have learned so much too. The majority of the people in this community are genuinely caring and supportive people, but some of them....well, they are just plain mean and hurtful to some of the posters and should not even be here. Just sayin.....

I think it's happening more often than you realize, but I think a lot of people are afraid to mention it, for what should be obvious reasons if you've read this entire thread or any of the others that mention a similar problem. It gets attributed to bad equipment, PG allergies, VG allergies, panic attacks on the part of the vaper, and hypochondria. I agree with Warbdan; the weak point in the whole equation is the flavors made for the GI tract instead of the respiratory one. If you've never smoked, it's a good thing to get off these now; you probably never should have started them with clean lungs, but fortunately it's just a few months and I hope that it's just a minor irritation that will clear itself up if you stop coating your lungs with irritants.

aron291980:

Thanks for posting your symptoms. Coincidentally I am at the 2 mo mark like you and noticing the same thing as you and your wife. Actually I have had it a little bit all along but more prounounced now on occaision. Noticable tightness and heavy feeling in chest. Comes and goes. Also some nasal irritation with nasal passages feeling different and overall dehydration which I don't think is normal.

I am glad that you posted what you did as I have been blaming some of these symptoms of being a 24 yr smoker. Tightness in chest IS a result of quitting but from everything I have read it only lasts a week or two. You have never smoked at all and in the same time frame as me (I posted a few days ago) are starting to get concerned.

I think you are right. I didn't want to bring it up either and I initially posted on an allergy thread too as that is what a lot of people are attributing it to. But I have never had a problem with allergies to anything. On one hand I don't want to bring up anything bad, but I really think most of the members here are so nice and helpful I am actually doing a disservice if I don't speak up. It kind of is like we are all guinea pigs and it's not a bad idea to compare notes....

I also think it's happening more than we realize....I did a board search and saw a LOT of posts in 2009 from members who are no longer here.

That is very interesting! Apparently there are only two companies that supply liquids that have been thoroughly tested. They only have limited flavors, but they provide information on their ingredients. One is located in Europe, and the other one is located in the U.S. I was wondering if anyone knows the two different companies? I ran across the two companies in various threads, but now I can't find them.

I can't remember the European company, but I believe the US one was esmoke.net. I think it was nestled in one of the diacetyl threads, which would understandably make it difficult to find now.

I'll be damned.. nearing my two month mark in vaping, and I have been off cigarette's for 4 months, I am starting to have shortness of breath. It literally feels like someone is just sitting on my chest..

I first started out with FSUSA's juice, then BWB, then DIY with Capella.com's VG and flavoring and FSUSA's unflavored liquid, then cignot.com's Dekang juice.

That has been all of the juices that I have tried so far, and now I am beginning to wonder if all this has to do with the flavoring that is used in our juices. I ended up solving my issue with dehydration with DIY using 70% unflavored VG liquid, 20% flavoring, and 10% water. Something that did make a difference, but ends up diluting the taste and nicotine a little more is 15-20% water. BUT my shortness of breath still exist, so I might take a step back from vaping to see if this issue clears up or not. Or, I will vape unflavored nicotine liquid to see if that would help any.

ya, but it has nothing to do with vaping. Mine's all from 51 years of smokin cigarettes.

Cheers,
otrpu

Just sayin its about as close to any LONG TERM tests vapers have..................fog machines use glycol and people have issues, not all people but some prob just like e cigs, another thing if people are having issues with fog machines, it would only make since that a person could have issues with e cigs..........................for example most people arent putting there mouth to the end of one of these fog machines and taking a deep inhale.............................

Stopped smoking and started vaping 6.4 months ago, no problems, I feel fine. Not doing much exercise but I have no trouble walking long distance or doing a few minutes of bike. This is an hypochondriac's dream thread, we need more people to chime in and say they feel fine.

Are you using flavored liquid? And if so what vendor are you using? I would like to try it.

Edit: And if it is DIY, what company are you using? (Capella.com, LorAnn, Perfume Apprentice, FlavourART)

Thanks

I've vaped bestecig liquid for the first 5 months (they say it's only VG on their website) and for the last month I've been DIY, 75 PG and 15 VG at 15mg, I used both Tropical Punch from LorAnn and Watermelon from FlavourART at 10% flavor.
