I was planning on putting together one of the Dixie Consolidated 10/22 bullpup kits, but then I found a good deal on a Walther G22 and got that instead. Aside from the general lack of high capacity mags, it's a hoot. It's about two feet long and balances right at the grip while still having a 20" (IIRC) barrel. I like the style, and I'd love to have either of Kel-Tec's new bullpups or maybe a Tavor.

My carry guns are a Rock Island 1911a1 GI .45 acp, and a Sig Sauer P220 .45acp made in 2003- about the last of the German ones.

For home, a rem 870. Im still looking for an 18" barrel for it.

Also have an old bolt action .410 and an even older .22 bolt action single shot.

When I get my tax return Ill be looking at picking up an ak.

. Should have bought acouple three years ago when most of them were less than $600. A buddy of mine just got a sweet N-pap and 1000rnds for $600.

Ill keep ya posted!

That's a pretty good deal. I paid ~$600 for an O-PAP a couple months ago. Gotta love the Yugos, esp the ones with the bulged RPK type trunnions and 1.5mm receivers. Fackers are almost 10 lbs of hardened Serbian steel. If one ever stops firing, (most likely out of ammo, malfunctions are not exactly common), in close contact, you can still bludgeon the chit out of anything around ya. :D

FN is great, but I'd like to see a different trigger group for the f2000. I've only fired the one that has way too much polymer for the body. The chopped down version might be different, but not even firing it, the trigger feels like it came off a cheap toy.

It'd be nice if KRISS would pop something out that wasn't .45 ACP..I guess it'd be kind of over kill to have any rifled rounds for it at the current state of civilization, but you know...

I'm the kind of wacko that thinks a semi-auto sub gun would be a great home defense weapon. I think an SBR'd UMP would do quite well, except I'm a civilian so HK hates me. The KRISS is a really cool design, though the recoil damping gimmick is kinda pointless without a proper happy switch. Maybe I should just get one of the magazines for my Glock...

hmmm... I never even heard of that one until now. Had to google it. Nice looking bullpup.

My next planned purchase is the HTA P90 10/22 conversion: High Tower Armory 90/22 (Black)

That looks pretty cool; turns your 10/22 into a P-90 look-a-like!

They sound pretty damn well made as well. I'm just not sure if I'd want to drop $230 on my 10/22.

My personal favorites really and truly never progressed past WW2...

I've never seen an American made 1911 I could walk past without doing the purchase math....Try to buy a new M1 Garand from CMP every tax refund check....Keep M1 carbines as ranch guns and my long distance reach out and touch someone is a 1903a3 Springfield.(although theres a Savage 110fp in the guncase with a gen 1 Springfield Sniper scope on it.

I played with the AK's and never got comfortable with them.....AR's dont fit my shoulder or shoot like a Garand or its M1A younger brother.....I liked the FN-FAL but not enough to spend my money on one and a polymer pistol in a social situation????? Your kidding right?

Just call me a child of the past.

LOL... I have over $500 until building this one (not including optics and bipod). I bought just a 10/22 receiver, and then bought all the parts from various online sources. It was a fun build. Definitely got too much into it for a 10/22 LOL

I can sure see your appreciation for WWII guns and prior. The only older guns I ever owned till recently where just two little .22 single shot rifles. I had always love the design of older guns and the wood and metal that they are made of. Plus all the history of the old Military Rifles.

This Summer, I picked up a 1911 Lee Enfield No1 MK3. The wood is so beautiful looking and the craftsmanship is just amazing. I can't even imagine the stories this gun would tell. Pretty sure it has beem in both World Wars and has Austrailian 2nd Military Defense markings on it. They just don't make guns like that anymore. I love all guns, new and old.

I gun thread went 14 pages without devolving into partisan rhetoric?!? Wow the INSIDE is a strange place!

Yep, and I'm glad it has.

I started this thread as a place to talk about firearms, (the devices themselves), and not politics. There are other monstrous, hyperbole-riddled threads for the latter. ;)
