LOL... I have over $500 until building this one (not including optics and bipod). I bought just a 10/22 receiver, and then bought all the parts from various online sources. It was a fun build. Definitely got too much into it for a 10/22 LOL

Yeah.. that looks like a lot more rifle than .22 LR at first glance.

That's the most "tactical" 10/22 I've ever seen, man! :D

Here's mine:

^ Bone stock mid-90's stainless carbine

I'm thinking of buying a Bumpski for her, (already got one for the SGL-21).

Nice looking paddle stock there!

In that other picture of my 10/22, here's a feature that's not obivous- it's a side folder.

Here's a picture of it folded (and minus the bipod, and a red dot instead of scope)

That'd be a Calico, friend of sci-fi propmasters everywhere. Helical mags are nifty.

Crap, you beat me to the only freakn odd gun on the thread I could identify...haha. I really wanted one of those. They made a 22 mag and a 9mm, in a pistol and a riffle. Remember seeing them in several movies....haha...with laser pulses coming out of the barrel. Very cool helical mags and if I am not mistaken, spent brass ejected straight down under the gun. That gun and a Grendel .22 mag pistol are at the top of my most wanted odd ball (ugly) gun list.

Don't mean to interrupt, but I was just thinking of something and started to wonder -- how much does a box of .22 LR cost these days? I've heard mention of shivers about prices, but I haven't seen any specifics.

22LR is still hard to find- it's not making a comeback yet. Price varies a lot because it's hard to find. But typical is in the .10-.15 per round price range (which is ridiculous for 22LR). If you get lucky you'll find some at .08 per round. I haven't seen anything cheaper since December.

Here's my most recent AR build. The parts list is long I don't feel like typing it all out but trust me it is all top of the line stuff.

Not familiar with what they call that particular front hand guard, but the M4A1 I have seen locally have one that looks similar. When I held them, seem like a crap load of sharp edges for a place you put your hand. But very nice looking gun.

Speaking of those "uncomfortable, abrasive bumpy nubs", check this out:

I'd say that it's the final word on the previously unending "AK vs AR debate". I'll take the rifle that can handle a ham sandwich, (a common hazard in combat), and keep right on firing. :D

Oh, and yeah, that was a Calico, one of the pre-ban 9mm carbines. I traded it for a Maadi, (Egyptian), ARM semi-auto AKM, imported by Intrac in the early '90s.. which I later sold to buy an unfired Hungarian FEG SA-85M, (post-ban, imported by KBI). I do miss the Calico, though. It was a unique little rifle and it was kind of cool having an eeeeeevillll semi-automatic "assault weapon" that was stamped "Made in Bakersfield, CA". :D

That's a hell of a 10/22, man. I'd love to set mine up similarly.. but wouldn't love the price required. :D

As to mine, is that particular stock uncommon? Forgive my ignorance, (I admit I'm not "well-versed" in 10/22 models), but I haven't seen one like it on most 10/22's.
