Anyone else want to eliminate the nicotine?

I started vaping because although I'd been off the cigs for years, I was sucking down the nicotine lozenges constantly..."chain sucking". Also, all the young hipsters at work are smokers, so I found myself sneaking the occasional cig at work, and it became a slippery slope...after a while I went from one a week to one a day.

E-cigs give me all the pleasure of blowing smoke , but I want to ditch the nicotine. Has anyone else done this? I'd be interested to hear others stories.

Been vaping for about 4 months now. I doubt I will ever go to 0 nicotine. I started at 12mg and am now at around 6. I like what nicotine does for me. I would prefer to have at least some nic in my juices. It does a lot of good things, so I don't want to kill it completely.

This is one of the best things about vaping. It can be tailored to each individual person and what they want.

I'm planning on going 0mg. I only got my eGo a few days ago (got it Friday, haven't had a smoke since. This is not a testament to willpower, either!) It's not really on my radar yet, but eventually I want to cut the nicotine out, just because I don't really like *needing* something. I figure it will be easier to do that when you can control the dosage fairly simply. I doubt I'll quit vaping, though. I like it :)

There are quite a few people here on ECF that have gone to 0 mg juice. Most did so over time by reducing their mg level a little at a time. Some of them planned to go 0 mg and a few others did so without really trying to. Some that did manage to move all the way to 0 mg later decided to give up vaping so we dont see them here on ECF anymore unless they decide to stop in and say hello once in a while. Hopefully some more of the 0mg vapors will chime in here for you. :)

I'm one that planned to reduce my nic level and did well with my plan and although I did try some 0 mg really hadn't decided it I wished to completely stop using nic or not. I found out by accident after vaping about 4 months that I was no longer addicted to nic when I got sick with strep throat and couldnt use nic for a few days. Today I vape a lot of 0 mg juice and sometimes I choose to use up to 6 mg.

My best advise for anyone that wishes to give up using nic is to not rush the process and take your time getting there. The fact that you're not smoking anymore is what is most important. :)

I don´t make plans, I simply go along. 0 mg would be great, but it´s not on my plans just yet. Every time I stop vaping and go back to analogs, vaping again is terrible. I crave all the time. Sometimes I have an analog in one hand and the vaper in the other and smoke both. The day I stop needing analogs will be a great step forward. First time vaping I just carried an analog in my vaping purse an it was all I needed. Now I´m almost smoking a pack of cigarrettes PLUS vaping. One thing at a time...

I started at 24 mg a year ago, I moved to 18 mg about 7 or 8 months ago. I have been on 12 mg for quite a while now. Before the end of the year I will try 6 or 8 mg. But, if I never quit nic at least I quit smoking quite successfully & I'm in much better health. Not a single puff since Aug 28, 2011. I smoked for 45 years or so. I still need some nic and as long as I need it, I'll get it from my PV. No pressure on me to quit vaping or quit nic ejuice. If I do, great for me, if I don't, well, I can live with that.

I am still a babe in the woods. Maybe a couple of months now and probably still 3 - 5 cigs a week. I am still caught up in the daily/hourly/by the sec craving for an analog. I started on 36 mls for about a week. That killed my immediate cravings. However, since I pretty much chain vape, too much nic was building up in my system. I was always jittery, heart racing, vivid dreams (when I could sleep) etc. all the symptoms of nic OD. I went down to 26 and still a little too much. I am now at 18 and pretty comfortable but my cravings for an analog is stronger. Not sure what the right combo is just yet but trying my best to attain one.

One of the problems for me is when I smoke an analog, I know when to quit. The cig is down to the filter and I toss it and wait for the next craving. With ecigs I just keep on vaping. Especially when its a tasty juice. I can more/less use it like a pacifier. I think I actually have more nic in my system vaping than when I smoked analogs. Anyway... that may be just me. I would hope to get down to 0 nic but not in the cards for me at the moment.
