I have had terrible insomnia (think, 4am bedtimes) since I started vaping. And I use zero-nic after 4pm. No other changes in lifestyle etc. My major worry is that there's unlabeled nicotine content in my zero-nic.... And I wish the Sleepy Time Green Tea from Nhaler came in 0 nic!
But, insomnia is a natural part of my life... I've tried most Rx and non-Rx drugs for sleep out there and the only thing that even mildly assists me in getting to sleep before morning every single night is melatonin. (Yes, I should just be a freelancer...) It's simply gotten harder since vaping.
Melatonin isn't a wonder-drug -- but studies are showing how important melatonin regulation in the body is to so many functions: mood, emotion, sexuality, attention and alertness, etc. (Also, for some people it can cause a mild depression when taken in too high doses. It's best to start low -- you may not need more than 1-2mg. And its long-term effects have not been studied well in children and adolescents, so best not to feed it to your kids and mess with their natural cycles.)
Note in using melatonin that our bodies begin to secrete it after dark -- not right before bedtime. So dividing your dose into small portions (a few manufacturers make doses smaller than 1mg) earlier in the evening can ease your transition into bed even better.
