....... The vape is the standard by which I measure all others.

I'm using my 804's most of the time now. I've got used to the loose draw and it makes the draw on my drunker and reduxes seem too tight to suit me now.

What wattage do you mostly vape at? I'm at 2.7 ohm, 4.5 v for 7.5 watts at the moment. That's a little high for me, but seems to be working well for the torrone (fa) 50/50 mix I have at the moment.

0.8 ohm on a mechanical .. so thats' between 13 and 22 watts, very little time at the higher level but not at all uncomfortable. Nice warm vape with short pulls and I get nicced out with these short pulls

I can remember back when I first switched to vaping that one of my complaints was that the vape wasn't as warm as I wanted. I finally got use to the vapor from a joye 510 atty and and later, the pita ce2's that at least had the ceramic cup up close to the mouth. The 510 atty finally became what I judged other devices by and similar heat and vapor is what I still like.

I thank it's great that we have some choices now. The kind of wattage you're using would have been hard to come by if not impossible just a short time ago.

Well the big brother is acting just like the little brother. Arrived from China yesterday and built it the same way. 0.8 ohm coil around some xc-116, simply folded over. So far, even with the slightly larger fluid channels it's vaping the same just a bit cooler. It's hard to fault these. I am getting some metal vivinova tanks. I will try pluid when I get them. I fully expect a stellar vape. If I ever get my scubagen mini v3 I wonder if I will even use it. The genesis atomizers have been surpassed. At least at my end.

received mine 3 days ago. wrapped my wick and coil came in shy of .8 ohms... worked great... although i did have a bit wicking problem... it dried out every 2 hits and i would need to pop the top off and screw it back in to allow pressure to push the juice. then i read that using a bigger wick helps as there is more wicking area. so i tried out a 3mm silica instead of the 2mm i was using. cleaned everything out... made my wick and coil and and it came in at a bit over .8 ohms. so i though, kool.. exactly what i was aiming for. so i put everything back the was i usually did, attached to my natural. test fired and everything seemed fine. took my first hit, bammmm! i was sucking it dry as if i was drinking out of a straw. on 3 sec inhale emptied the entire tank followed by heavy flooding! now im baffled.... i realized something was wrong as soon as i was screwing the top on, there was no pressure pushing into the liquid... unscrewed the cap and there was no vacuum that you would normally expect... im lost... i feel like i lost a part when i washed em out... any ideas as to why it would do such a thing?

Sounds like you may have lost the grommet at the top of the mouth piece that the top of the chimney goes into. You should be able to take off the top piece and see it by looking from the bottom if it's there. Size of grommet is here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...lone-aka-dream-bt804-tank-17.html#post8854281

As for installing the wick, and if you want to experiment some, there's several ways shown over in the kayfun thread that should be applicable to the 804, so you might get some ideas from browsing that thread.

This guy seems to get good results by trapping the wicks in the channels, which I though was a no no. Start this video at about 6:00 to see what he's doing. How I setup my kayfun and kayfun clone tank systems - YouTube

Another way I've seen is just ending the wicks above the channels and fraying the wick ends out a little to cover the top of the channel. It's pretty much like the above video but just shorter so that the wick doesn't come down into the channels. I seen it in a video but can't find it at the moment.

I wrap my (cotton) wicks like post 61 of this thread, but I'm usually vaping at 6 or 7 watts, and only chaining 2 or 3 hits in a row before giving it a little rest.

Also, you might want to pm bilboda and see how he's setting his up. (He's using xc-116 though)

Check you airflow. Something must be blocking it. When you take a pull, ideally it's balanced between drawing air and sucking juice into the chamber. No ariflow means jst pulling juice. Now, that should be really tight. One could simulate that by covering the airhole when vaping. The reason it wouldn't be tight is because the parts are not fitted together correctly, allowing air into the juice chamber and creating a straw like pull on the juice. The grommet on the pipe extension is a possibility. How the 2 tank pieces fit together and attach to the end caps is another. Another is where the air pipe meets the top cap.
Sound like you have the right idea with 3mm wick. You could even use 2 strands and just fold it so that it ends up just above the threads when the chamber cap is screwed on. Fat wicks win on this atty. No need to plug the channels with wick. Maybe straight pg will flow too easy , I don't know.. It's the design that works. It should stop filling the inner chamber when you stop pullling.

I have almost no issues filling upside down. I put a Qtip in the top as a stopper and simply pour juice in. My only issue is getting the eright level. Too much and I have minor slight flooding issues at the beginning of vaping the tank. They go away though. Way too much and it will fill the bottom drip cap and flow out the airhole. Too little and I have to repeat too soon. The extension helps take that worry away though and I don't have the same need to put in as much as possible cause it is taking plenty. already. This has become seriously easy to use and maintain. No Leaks! It can go in your pocket with NO issues, well, except the length, and who knows what that might lead to....

can you provide a better description or picture of your xc116 wick? I am still getting dry hits with mine. I have one wick leg going near the channell and the other is unraveled and wraps along the top of the threads...

My wick looks like this after the chamber cap is screwed on. Legs are long enough to reach the top of the threads. Not aligned with holes, not frayed or splayed out or wrapped around. They do nothing to obstruct the channels. Depending on how your wick is wrapping around, you may be obstructing the juice suction. Don't wrap, fray or splay, leave the channels clear. Just use a fat wick, xc-116 is a hair more than 3mm in diameter. It is hollow and this may be contributing to the wicking, but as you might imagine, it is flattened against the sides when the chamber top is screwed on. I did have a similiar positive experience with a fat cotton bandage wick.
Be sure to lift your wick/coil up from the center air hole.

Thanks for the reply... but i noticed the grommet was still in its correct place... still cant figure it out....

discountvapers has these on sale for $13.99... snagged me an extra one :)
dont want to stock up in anticipation for a better clone or a SS short version hitting here in the states.

this thing is hitting so nicely it is making me contemplate dropping $$$ on a kayfun 3.1!

speaking of discountvapers i just had a great experience on a support issue with Eric. What a great guy! go snatch these up at the sale price while they still have them!
