It took me about six months to start feeling better and then all of a sudden my lung capacity was so much better. Give it time it'll kick in trust me!!

I keep seeing on here that everyone feels so much better than when they were smoking. I really want to feel better but honestly I just can not see a difference. Did this happen at different times for everyone or right away? I quit analogs on the day I got my kit on April 2. So, I am about 6+ weeks.

I am very encouraged by this. I was starting to think there was something bad wrong.

Jiff, I smoked for 35 years close to 2 packs a day. I love not having the nasty smell, or the nasty mouth.

I smoked a pack a day for years, probably took me at least a couple months of vaping before I felt much better. I think I was addicted to some of those bad chemicals in cigs too, not just the nicotine, and that took getting over. I was more tired than usual in the beggining, slept a LOT. Sometimes my throat got sore from certain juices, and at a couple points I lost my sense of taste when vaping, tho just briefly. I know I had some other complications too in the beggining, can't quit remember them all, I'm going on a year, and I have a bad memory lol. There were some growing pains.

Did you have any specific symptoms or problems that you attributed to smoking that you feel haven't gotten better?

I didn't have too many 'noticable' problems with smoking. I didn't have a smokers cough. I wasn't wheezing or having trouble breathing. I exercised a lot and didn't really think that the smokes slowed me down that I could notice.

ETA: I forgot to mention that when I was smoking, I would feel some deep chest pains, usually lying in bed at night. Those would always scare me, but I can't pinpoint exactly when they went away. I think it took a while.

It may be that you have some improvements that aren't so obvious. Your CO2 levels have probably decreased. Since I work out with a heart rate monitor I know that my resting heart rate has decreased, but this is not something I'd know if I didn't have a record of it before hand. If you had blood work done before you switched, you might find that some of the numbers have improved. Your blood pressure might be better. If I look at pictures of myself now compared to a year ago, my skin looks noticeably better. It's pinker instead of kind of grey, and I look, um... younger or fresher I guess I'd say.

Anyway, maybe you will notice more dramatic changes as you give it more time. If not, at least you know you smell better!

I smoked for almost thirty years, one pack per day. Before I started vaping, I had a difficult time taking deep breaths and I felt that I wasn't getting enough oxygen. My breathing was generally somewhat shallow. I have felt a lot of improvement, but it has been gradual (I quit four and a half months ago). Remember, we all have different metabolisms and before we see improvements the body has to go through some healing stages. Be patient and if you can, do activities that improve your breathing.

Yes, I didn't realize that some of those chemicals were anti-depressants. I spent the first few weeks crying. Still am having issues with it on some days. Mouth & lips have been "burnt" by the juice several times. Also have had some pain in the chest and back that I didn't have until the first day I starting vaping. I have had bumps but I am proud of making it for this long without an analog.

I've been vaping for over a year. I smoked for 35+ years and was at 2 1/2 pad. the only reason I quit was the money. I still smoke 2 cigs a day, right before bed because I'm old and I want to! I always felt fine and still do

the only difference I notice is I don't cough much anymore. I can smell more stuff...and it's not all pleasant lol. food tastes the same as before to me (thank goodness, I'm already fat, it might be really bad if food tasted better to me )

I do exercise almost every day. I really didn't have smoking symptoms either. However, my husband keeps telling me I look better. I have noticed that my skin looks "cleaner". I just haven't had that aha moment where the lightbulb clicks and I think--Wow, I feel better!

I think a lot of the changes we experience are so gradual, that it's really hard to notice them. I remember an older gentleman I used to work with who quit smoking. I hadn't seen him in a very long time, but one day I bumped into him and I actually stopped and did a double take because he looked so different. I was like, "George! What did you do, you look amazing!". Then he told me he had managed to quit smoking several months previously. I swear his skin had gone from the haggard zombie look to fresh and vibrant. If I had been seeing him every day it wouldn't have been nearly as shocking.

o.k. I am with you totally. I don't want food to be better. In the last 6 weeks I have gained 12 pounds and I am not sure why since I haven't basically given up the hand habit. This week I have been able to get a little control back.

Love your greys.

Yeah it seems to affect different people at different rates. I was a 1.5 PAD smoker for 30+ years. I'm already (after 2 months) seeing improvement in some areas but not so much in others.

There was a "list thread" floating around here with people discussing what changes (good and bad) they've experienced. The majority of the bad are just temporary, like zits.

Some I had already experienced even before reading the thread, others I've experienced later on a good while after. Some I'm still waiting on, and some I hope I never get. LOL

I felt better almost right away, however I had a bad smokers cough, I also have asthma so the breathing issues are something I notice quickly.

Also I think some of it for me wasn't just the change from analogs to e-cig, but also the other changes that came with it, like drinking more water, something I had never been good about.

I feel mentally better. Let's face it, being a smoker and being put in the outcast category is pretty depressing. Even if it's in your head. I hated that I smoked and couldn't stop.

I feel better about myself, but physically I feel pretty much the same.

Oh Yes!! I forgot about that. Oh, everyone is soooo proud of me. That makes me want to throw up(sorry) it just does.

Yep, I hated that it had total control over me.....yet I do wonder if all my batteries went down and would not work--just what would I do..the answer to that tells me that maybe I am not in control of this either, LOL.

I haven't noticed anything that I would consider overwhelming in terms of feeling better, but I've noticed a few little things.

My eyesight seems to have gotten better, my sinuses are clearer, and my circulation to my hands and feet seems to have improved. I haven't any increase in lung capacity or some of the other improvements people talk about though.

But the love life has improved, but I think that has more to do with the Mrs. liking to smooch more now since she doesn't have to kiss an ashtray anymore.
