I just got the v3, second day with it. Working great straight out of the box. No rainbow led message. I am having one small problem: I cannot seem to press the + and - signs at the same time to enter the main menu. I've found that when I remove the batteries and re-start that menu shows. I somehow got the ohms to display when pressing the fire button. When I press the fire button now the watts setting shows. Regardless, this is sweet!

A contributor was whinning about a burnt taste in another post. Mine did the same thing (kanger t-3, I re-build 'em myself). I reduced the watts to 4.0, problem solved!
I turned over my joyetech twists to the wife........

What's the word on the finish wearing off? Otherwise it's a heck of an upgrade from my Lavatube!

That thread may have been about the V2 and not the V3. I'd be interested to know if they've fixed the issue on the V3. Getting ready to buy my first Vamo. I want the V3 due to the removable top ring and new screen. But I'm hesitant due to not having stainless steel available. Hopefully the chrome on the V3 doesn't wear off like the V2. The finish is reportedly an issue on the regular chrome and black chrome on the V2.

Do you mean the shut down issue? If so look a few posts back. Reports have been made of some places with no issues(including fasttech).

The SS version is already available from some vendors, FT is currently working on it.

I meant the chrome finish issues on the V2. Was wondering if the V3 had the same issues with chrome finishes or not.

The V3 will be available in stainless steel? Or will it be the V4? I've seen in a thread or two that they're going to put the V3 screen and board into the V2's body and call it the V4. If the did that but kept the removable top ring, I'd be all over it. Don't know why I think the removable top ring is a big deal, but I just do.

I'll have to ask them when they anticipate it. It may be worth holding out till it's available. I don't want something that'll look like crap in a few weeks.

I was going to buy the silver chrome version. I've heard the v2 had some issues with that finish too. Not as bad as the black, but issues nonetheless.

If I had lathe and soldering skills, I'd buy a V3 and make my own compartment out of some cool material like titanium and give it a non-slip texture; not the swirl pattern.

That's even more messed up looking that the Vamo V3 IMO.

I was all set to order the V3 in stainless steel when I realized I haven't used my PayPal in about 6 years or so. Gotta update everything.

Edit: There's no package deal on the V3 SS yet. I was going to order everything separately from Fasttech as I want the Nitecore i4 instead of the i2, but others may want to know they have to get batteries and the charger separately.

Just wondering. I have a black chrome V2 and love it. Not really feeling the look of the V3. The swirls are awful IMO. I think they tried to make the Vamo "non-slip". But I think it could have been done a little more stylish.

What do you guys think?

Just got my V3 from fasttech the other day. The swirls aren't as bad as I thought they would be...based on the pics. I got the black chrome, and it still picks up finger prints but doesn't show as bad as my chrome V2. So, I'm considering a j-wrap...simple as that.

I like that there are a couple more options with the menu / interface, but the display lettering...the OLED?...is smaller and bit harder to read in sunny daylight.

The biggest improvement, IMO, is the fact that the top cap can come off to clean the drip well better or put something funky on there instead of the cap. Not being able to do this on the V2 drove me nuts.

got my vamo v3 2 days ago...very pleased. i was very torn between getting the v2 of v3 but im happy i went with v3. the swirls in the pictures looked hideous but honestly i like them now that im using it. it adds a nice grip and looks nice IRL.

the oled is a little small...but that ok. got the black one with the kit from fasttech and of course when it arrives the SS one is available....ah well. the black looks pretty nice.

using the kanger protank with it and its bliss. got my protank before the vamo and had to use it on an ego battery at first. with the ego it was meh...ok, but once i could crank the volts/watts up on the vamo the protank hits like a train.

all in all im very happy with it. dont see any reason to order the v2 at this point....esp since u can get the v3 in SS.

Vamo V3 Video Review - VapingDaily - YouTube

I've been dumb before, I had to hold both buttons together to access the main menu. The video has everything you need to use the V3. This is my first top-end variable, I love it.

I never had a V2. I heard you cannot use a kanger t-3 on a v2, they fit a v3.

The swirls don't bother me. The kanger t-3 hits best for me at 6-7 watts (my coil rebuilds always check at 2-2.3 ohms). I just tried a vivi nova, it works good at 4.5 ohms.

Congrats on your purchase and thanks for the update/review.
No idea what's with your charger, could be residue left over from manufacturer, could be something serious.
Better chargers? The pila or intelicharger, there are others, if you do a bit of searching you'll find plenty.
Charge time? Depends what you're charging (18350? 650? Other?) and depends on the rate of current supplied by your charger compared to the capacity of the cell and it's discharged level at the beginning of charge.
Ex: charger supplies 500mA, battery is below normal(3.7v) and a capacity of say 2000mA it will take at least 4hrs. More than likely the specs on those cheap Chinese chargers are well over inflated so expect more time.

I have a question for ya tho. Does your unit display the 'rainbowheaven' logo on powerup/power down? And listen to the clearo/carto/rba(whatever you have on the vamo) on power down and see if it fires throughout the shut down process.

Sorry, I don't come in here very often, wasn't ignoring your question. No, no rainbowheaven logo. No it's not firing on shutdown.

Plugged in the battery charger ?????? Do you mean an eGo charger? No no no no You cant do that, the pcb is not design for charge the batteries, also with 2 battery stacked th volyage is double high, you need to charge the batteries outside the vamo in a charger like nite or xtar

No, the charger that came with the kit.
