Seems like fasttech has the "proper" Vamos.

That thread may have been about the V2 and not the V3. I'd be interested to know if they've fixed the issue on the V3. Getting ready to buy my first Vamo. I want the V3 due to the removable top ring and new screen. But I'm hesitant due to not having stainless steel available. Hopefully the chrome on the V3 doesn't wear off like the V2. The finish is reportedly an issue on the regular chrome and black chrome on the V2.
Do you mean the shut down issue? If so look a few posts back. Reports have been made of some places with no issues(including fasttech).
The SS version is already available from some vendors, FT is currently working on it.
I'll have to ask them when they anticipate it. It may be worth holding out till it's available. I don't want something that'll look like crap in a few weeks.
I was going to buy the silver chrome version. I've heard the v2 had some issues with that finish too. Not as bad as the black, but issues nonetheless.
If I had lathe and soldering skills, I'd buy a V3 and make my own compartment out of some cool material like titanium and give it a non-slip texture; not the swirl pattern.
Get the SVD. $40 on fasttech

Just wondering. I have a black chrome V2 and love it. Not really feeling the look of the V3. The swirls are awful IMO. I think they tried to make the Vamo "non-slip". But I think it could have been done a little more stylish.
What do you guys think?
Congrats on your purchase and thanks for the update/review.
No idea what's with your charger, could be residue left over from manufacturer, could be something serious.
Better chargers? The pila or intelicharger, there are others, if you do a bit of searching you'll find plenty.
Charge time? Depends what you're charging (18350? 650? Other?) and depends on the rate of current supplied by your charger compared to the capacity of the cell and it's discharged level at the beginning of charge.
Ex: charger supplies 500mA, battery is below normal(3.7v) and a capacity of say 2000mA it will take at least 4hrs. More than likely the specs on those cheap Chinese chargers are well over inflated so expect more time.
I have a question for ya tho. Does your unit display the 'rainbowheaven' logo on powerup/power down? And listen to the clearo/carto/rba(whatever you have on the vamo) on power down and see if it fires throughout the shut down process.
Plugged in the battery charger ?????? Do you mean an eGo charger? No no no no You cant do that, the pcb is not design for charge the batteries, also with 2 battery stacked th volyage is double high, you need to charge the batteries outside the vamo in a charger like nite or xtar
