I don't think anyone truly saves money at this, until they can do two things. The first is find the right gear to suit their needs. I'm almost there, as I'm saving to get my uber mod... Whichever of the dna tube mods become available when I have the cash. The second is ending that quest for the right all day vapes. Once you find about 3 of them, you can buy in bulk... And occasionally buy a random flavor to experiment with. Another option on the same vein is to make your own juice.

Randomly buying gear and premium juice in small bottles is fun, but totally not going to save money that way.

BTW, someone should come up with a signature graphic for counting how much has been spent vaping. That might help ease some of the guilt (or keep us from blowing out our pocketbooks!).
I agree. More experienced members should be able to demonstrate that ***generally*** spending decreases when people find what suits their personal wants and needs.

I've been running a spreadsheet since we quit smoking and started vaping. Even with the upfront investment in setups and backups (and the tossing of a couple of mistakes) and a river of ejuices, we are pretty much at the break even point. We are aiming for a $100/mo vaping budget from this point forward, which should still be a substantial savings over smoking. So.... yup! :2c:

I just got a Sigelei Zmax v3 flat-top for $39.95... whopper of a savings... and also saved a ton getting Noalox from Lowes ($3.27) instead of Amazon ($8-something+$10-something shipping!). Paid a bit more to get a Hypertank2 from the same place I got the Sigelei, but saved probably more than $3 in shipping, so prolly came out about even on that.

Just ordered my 3rd ProVari and I'm still ahead of the game. :thumb:

O.K. See, this is something I just can't get my mind around. Why 3? Yes, loved the Provari, great quality 15 watt capable regulated mod. But that's all she'll ever put out. When adding to a collection, I try to get some variety. My vape has gone beyond what the P could put out, so ended up selling it, she never got used anymore, and her insistent whining was getting on me nerves. lmao. at least I still get visiting rights, since I sold to a buddy at work, was his first Vape purchase.

As soon as I got into the green, I started spending again. BUT a few more purchases and I'll be done for awhile except for juice so in the long run, I will definitely save.

Good luck with that thought!! Really, I sincerely mean that. Thought I was there 3 mods, 4 rba's ago. And then one goes for months without anything catching their eye, and BOOM, all of a sudden, there's something in my email that is tempting to buy.

I think I'm done, I think I'm done,

I know I'm done, I KNOW I'm DONE!!!

I AM....Holy Crap, now that looks too Kewl!!! and it's only, can't hurt to have that. lmao

Not yet, unfortunately.
I've been at this blind for a few months and made some pretty crappy purchases, hopefully that changes now that I'm on here bugging everyone with questions.

This is why I always recommend to search what is available, find the style and type of gear that makes sense to you, makes one say, hey, that makes sense, I can do that, and then choose a quality product, that will provide years of service.

I've been vaping since Sept 2013 and would say that I've not exceeded my previous spending on cigs, but I'm definately not saving anything. But the trade off has been well worth it. I've settled in on what I have aquired (for now...) and the only cost I have is around $50/mth for e juice.

The actual cost of taking vape into my body is trivial. I make my own juice, build my own coils, so in consumables, juice, wick, wire, replacement batteries, I'm looking at maybe $250 for me to vape for a year.

Mods and re-buildable atomizers are non consumable aspects of vaping, and need to be looked at as long term investments. The better the gear, the better the vape, the longer it lasts, the more economical cents it makes.

Like other newbies, I'm still in the red, but I hope to eventually get into the black! BTW, someone should come up with a signature graphic for counting how much has been spent vaping. That might help ease some of the guilt (or keep us from blowing out our pocketbooks!).

That would be tough to do. But another point for consideration is on including the PIF effect too. Some of my early gear, cig-a-likes, ego's, changeable atty's, I have given to friends and family. 2 out of 3 are now vapers. That's 2 lives, besides mine, that have been freed from the need to smoke. Feel there needs to be some kind of value placed on Paying It Forward, Hmm??

I think I am definitely saving money. I do agree that I can go a bit crazy buying new juices, tanks, and batteries. It has become a fun hobby to me, so I enjoy trying different things, even if it puts a dent in my wallet. I honestly enjoy vaping more than smoking, it tastes and smells better, my body feels better, and there's always something new to try!

I spend less vaping than I did smoking. I don't feel addicted anymore. I vape when I'm mixing new flavors and when I'm upset or needing a pick-me-up. It is way less time than when I was constantly sucking on a cigarette. My money sink is deciding to make a business out of it. I collect things for the business. But I stuck with the simple ego. Probably will get a variable voltage and bottom feeders soon though. Personal use has been 20 or less a month since I quit in January.
