Anyone try the Aspire clearos/tanks yet?

I'm surprised by the issues people are having with their Aspire BDCs. I just got mine a few days ago, but I have been beating the hell out of it, with no issues. It is better then my I30B, PT2, and don't even get me started on what a pile the PT3 is. The warmest vapor of them all, and best clouds by a long shot, and the best flavor. The flavor isn't as forward as the PT3, but it is more full. I have found that it seems to want to run cooler than any of my other tanks. I keep it turned way down for the best results.

I am finding my Highbrow liquids mixed 70/30 at 18mgs seem to like the tank best. My Halo Voodoo does seem muted in the Aspire, but it seems that way in all of my tanks except my Triton tanks... I haven't figured that one out yet.

I am always surprised as well. DH and I have used quite a few of the coils and have had zero issues. The one that I am using now I actually changed flavors in twice and it is still going strong. I do go light on my flavoring and use no dark or tobacco flavors. I have no clue why a few people seem to have issues with these.

Tomorrow, I'll be receiving the Aspire Nautilus - Very anxious to try that bad boy out!

My PT2 is a disappointment for the most part, and I want a tank with more capacity, airflow control, dual coil, etc. The Nautilus has all of the things I want - I hope I won't be disappointed.

I hope that you will like it as well. Especially with the price that they are charging for those. Do let us know what you think.

Hi sandt,
What are you using for the battery? The nv eGos from my starter kit are only a month old so they should be alright, no? What coils are you using, the 1.8 or 2.2?

Just trying to nail down what the problem might be.

Cheers,
bm

What voltages are you peeps driving these at?

I tend to like them at around 3.8-4 volts, but some are saying that because they are dual coils, they need to be fired at 5+ Volts.

What say you?

I am using the 2.1s at 3.5-4.2 volts. I do use mods though. They hold the voltage consistently where an Ego will drop voltage as the battery drains. I have wondered if using batteries such as Egos may be the issue for some.

i use 9 to 10 on watts and 4.5 to 4.8 when i use volts. (that's with 1.8 ohms coils)

When you run that high, do you ever experience a burnt hit?

I do. Someone told me that when Vaping these at higher watts and chain Vaping, that it is burning up the eLiquid faster than it can wick fresh liquid, thus giving a burnt hit. It doesn't ruin the coil or wick and just giving it a little more time between vapes solves this issue.

Does this happen to any of you?

This is probably old news for most of you
but ... if you want to rebuild the enclosed Aspire BDC coils... all you have to do...
is take the tank off of its base.... from the tank the're attached to...
then screw the base of the tank back on to a MOD
then carefully.. with a pair of pliers
rock the chamber (little tank of the atty *the head*) back and forth
and it will come off... allowing you access to the coils
and you then can REBUILD the coils if you chose to do so....
or at least inspect them....

....I have shared in the past that these Aspire BDC Attys were not rebuildable but I was wrong
as you can see with the information I just share above....

I run 4.0V with the 1.6 Ohm coil that came pre-installed, and have yet to have a burnt taste.

I use an 80/20 mixture.

I have to wonder if the flavors used don't dictate how high or low a person vapes with these. I use mostly light fruit and slightly sweet and if I go past 4.5 V, it burns. Tobaccos and heavier flavors may do well at higher volts/ watts than the more delicate flavors do. Not sure because I gave tobacco up when I gave up cigs :) It tastes as horrible in juice flavor as it did in cigs to me at this point in my vaping journey.

no burnt hits at all. i wouldn't run a single coil that high, maybe a tobacco on the watts. the reviews i saw before buying these were by twisted 420. he ran his at 9.5, thus, i assumed you had to run them higher. i prime them with 4 or 5 drops of juice. i have 9 tanks running (11 batteries in rotation), so i haven't switched juices (much) yet, just changed some coils. the only issues i've had are that i put my tobacco back in an evod and i might put my dulce de leche back in a davide or ptank 2. my root beer and whipped cream are in ptank 2s are i like them in cooler vapes.

Nice review. I suspect that the coil price will come down once more vendors have these in stock.

Viper Vape have them listed @ $2.99 ea but not available til around 10 Jan. That's a whole lot better than $33 for 5. Other vendors should have them soon as well I'm guessing so price should be decent.

I have them on an eVic at 5.2 watts. Your batteries should have plenty of muscle. My coils are the 1.8s.

FWIW, it hits so hard I am stepping down my nicotine levels.

Still getting the same results off a fresh charge. How would I test the voltage on an eGo stick (not a twist) with a multimeter? I've ben seeing numbers from 3.3 to 3.7 in product descriptions, and my eGo is a clone (eGo-W).

Thanks for all the helpful input, folks.

cheers
