The optional integrated Reservoir Expansion System (RES) uses a medical device grade porous ceramic wick to contain your favorite nicotine liquid (also called e-liquid). No need for cartridges, cartomizers (a combined atomizer and cartridge) or constant direct dripping. No more potentially contaminating foam or polyester in contact with your e-liquid. The RES is not a cheap plastic tank system that could deteriorate, leaching chemicals into your e-liquid. The RES incorporates state-of-the-art engineering and materials to deliver unmatched design, performance, and most importantly, peace of mind

I just wanted copy this from a different thread and post it here where it belongs.

This is how it has worked out for me so far. And I am not trying to make it sound better because I am the one selling them, this really is how it has worked for me so far.

I have been using the ultralite which is the smallest of the 3 units. The RES for the ultralite will hold 1/2 ml of liquid. The ultra will hold 1 ml and the ultramax will hold 2 mls. Now for someone like me who does not vape all day long the ultralite works great. I like the small size because I always carry it in my pocket and I am always out doing something. So also being a guy who does not vape all day I don't go through a ton of liquid, maybe 1 or 2 mls a day. I know for some of you thats more like a couple hours. The RES has been great because I can fill it up with 1/2 ml and I don't have to worry about touching my bottle to refill for hours. The other thing that I was quite surprised about is how smooth every single draw is. Unlike old fashioned carts with the "fuzz" inside of them that after a few drags they get clogged and leak liquid all over and are just a pain in the ..., the RES has none of these problems. Each drag feels like it was the very first one. It also improves the taste because you dont get old liquid built up inside like you do in the standard carts. It has a continuous flow so that everytime you put new liquid in it uses the old stuff first so you never get a nasty buildup. Overall I could not be happier with how the Alpha turned out. For a guy like me who is hard on everything he owns and eventually breaks everything he owns, I can see this lasting me a very long time. I would highly recommend that anybody who is tired of the same old cheap chinese crap that is frustrating to use, this is the answer to all your problems.

In the intro thread in the suppliers forum, N8T posted that the RES system with work with Cartos. I wanted to follow up by asking if it will work with the new dual coil cartos that are roughly the size of standard mega Cartos?

Start the "size matters" comments below.

Thanks

The dimension to keep in mind is the ID of the RES system. This is where the atomizer or cartomizer lives. This dimension is 10mm (or 0.394"). So it will work as long as the cartomizer has an OD smaller than 10mm.

It's good to know that you vape. What set up did you use before getting involved producing the Alpha?

Well I started on the same chinese ones I think everybody used a little over a year ago, then a friend handed me a mod running on the 10440 battery (that shall remain unnamed, don't want to bash). Needless to say it was a vast improvement, but still lacking in my opinion. That's when I decided to design the best and simplest device I could think of that solved the problems i experienced with the other devices. So a lot of hours on solidworks and even more in the shop led to the alpha series. I'm really happy with the results! I now carry an ultra lite when I'm out, and an ultra the rest of the time.
