Apex Alpha RES system

@N8T - I've just ordered the Alpha with RES. Very excited to try out the unique feed system. I'm just curious, wouldn't the ejuice leak out on the top part considering there is a space in between the atomizer and the RES ceramic? Specially when you put the PV lying down on the table (horizontal position) or on a reverse vertical position with the atomizer pointing down wouldn't the ejuice escape from that particular space?

Congrats, I'm stoked that these are getting out and into the hands of enthusiastic vapers!

As for leaking, no. The force exerted on the fluid from it's surface tension to the wick and RES sleeves is greater than that exerted by gravity. The liquid stays.

I drop a full RES unit in pocket all day without any concern for it leaking.

Cheers!

All I can say at this point is WOW!!.... I threw in a charged AW 17670, an IkenVape LR 510, soaked the RES material with some Backwoods Brew RY4, hit the switch, and after a couple of drags, I AM blowing clouds.. :) The flavor is excellent...

I love how sturdy and compact the UltraMax RES is.. Well, I will report back with an in-depth review after running LR / 3.7V, and HV / 6V over a solid week. ;)

sorry if this has been asked or if i missed it on the site but will you be selling just the core part of the res?

We certainly could. The issue is that the core
Part of te RES includes 4 pieces. The ceramic wick, the inner sleeve, the threaded top cap, and an FDA approved o-ring that sits between the wick and the top cap. The only other piece to the RES unit is the outer sleeve. So te price difference between buying the core vs. Buying a whole new RES would be small, maybe $10.

Cheers,

SH

Thanks.

One more question before I pull the trigger. Tell me if I got this right:

First, you 'prime' the RES by painting the liquid directly onto the ceramic. But normally, you just drip to add more, right?

Just wondering if I have to open it up every time or if I can occasionally add drops through the atomizer.

Just fill it right through the arty by direct dripping. Cheers!

One Ultra with RES ordered! Happy Easter!
...and I'm hoping my wife doesn't see it for just enough time for me to say "What is this? Oh, I've had this for ages."

Congrats! I think you will be very happy with the Ultra, it is my personal favorite. Perfect balance of size and performance, and I am not that in to 6V. Please let us know what think when you get it!

Cheers,

SH

Maybe I am not understanding right but why would it need to come with the threaded top cap if we already have that?

edit; I will knoiw better tomorrow when I get mine but is there anyway to remove the wick from the top cap, if that is possible then it seems like you would be able to sell just the wick. sorry for all the questions.

The way the RES is assembled, the top cap is permanently attached to the inner RES sleeve, trapping the wick (and also providing a rigid frame to protect the ceramic. You'll see what I mean when you get your hands on it. The tolerances are so tight, the top cap has to be fixed to that inner sleeve.
