My only experience with RBAs is my Z-Atty with a ceramic wick. I love it because it is a great vape and is dead quiet; no hiss, crackles, or sound of any kind.

Is this true with all RBAs, or all genny style atomizers, or is it the ceramic?

I'm intrigued by some of the other RBAs on the market but find I am addicted to the quiet.

FWIW, mine is a Z-Atty Pro on a ProVari.

All my AGA's are loud when there's a new coil and wick in there. The AGA-T2+ on my eVic even sends hot liquid out of the air hole when new. Now that they've calmed down I'm starting to think it's time for a new wick. (But USPS is dragging their feet and I have some ceramic coming, plus a sheet of mesh so I want to wait.)

But I love that rattlesnake sound!!!!

That's actually the circuit (I know videos hold up and let you hear the coil hissing with that sound but with my SVD you can definitely hear it from the mod body. After that I held my other mods to my ear and could hear it at varying degrees.

As far as coils taking on the rattlesnake, that's been hit and miss for me. Depending on how things are flowing and how much gunk there is. I've had it change from puff to puff.

Personally I would expand the experience and get a different genesis to play with, they all vape slightly different and you may find something you like even more.. that was my thinking when i started rba's and glad i did.

That was where I was headed and the reason for the thread.

I've kind of had my eye on a KayFun. Maybe after the holidays they will be back in stock.

I think a lot of the snap crackle and pop is the wick and how you wrap it (and of course how hard you are pushing it).

Round wire 4 wraps on mesh weren't loud for me. What got loud was when I went many wraps micro coil style (not micro because the wick has to fit the hole but bunched up coils). Then I went to ribbon micro style because of the hot liquid splashing problem. That got even louder but did cure the splash.
Wrapping like this my wick heats the liquid as much as the coil.

The wick material is just a guess comparing to old and new mesh wicks and silica in RDA's. Same ribbon and real micro with silica is a much mellower sound.
Maybe my ceramic will show up today. If it's quiet on my AGA-TD stacking I'll let you know, @5.3v+ it's loud even when caked.
