That's what I hear, TK, though I doubt I'll be owning one any time soon. There are just certain vaping items that hold up over the years. Like the Kabuki, for example, that one is mucho dough (they're still being made though) and it's an incredible tank. So, sometimes it's not about specs and wattage, but how beautifully and durably a mod is made.... They wouldn't be for everyone's style of vaping but the number of people still using them seems to indicate an intense commitment to quality....

When the deeming regs were announced, many high wattage vapers who had gotten rid of or dismissed ProVaris decided to buy one. While most any VV mod from a few years ago has become worth little, ProVari prices are rising. They are the regulated vape that most likely will continue to work over a number of years based on my experience. Some place a high value on that consistency. Under 15 watts, the ProVari 2.5 remains the best device to keep one vaping.

I found their smooth power to be the reason to use one, then the durability made me want more. Dropping a ProVari on concrete is just an annoyance, not a crisis. They are also handy for pounding nails back in when they pop out in my fence. Yeah, they are that good.

My P/2.5the first ones with green led still working well after a good few years, theres not many mods if any that you can clean the insides by filling the tube full of isopropyl alcohol then drain and dry if not working or sticky button, only able to do this on the early mods as the glue is different on latter ones,so i say there good.

I keep seeing ads for Provari tube mods in the hundreds of dollars !
    Are they that good ?
They are only 20 W max mods.

They're good for low wattage mtl, they're also known for being built like tanks. Since I use temp control %99 of the time I don't see the point of buying one (for myself). If you do low wattage and want a mod that'll survive the apocalypse it's worth it.

Pro Vape is a fascinating story, although still a little bit of a mystery. I get that the influx of low cost, reliable Chinese product hurt them. I don’t fully understand their position that the FDA put them out of business.
I’m sure the boom of cloud chasing in 2015-2016 didn’t help.
Hard to fathom that an article in April of 2016 touted them as on top of the market, and shortly after they were gone.
Were there other factors involved? Would the seeming resurgence of tootle puffing in 2017 have saved them if they stuck it out? Was the cost just too much for the market?
    Interesting subject.

That's funny, but during one of their final runs on the Classics, me and one other lucky fellow got P3 chip sets in a Classic tube for like 50$ lol, I still wonder to this day if whoever was installing the boards didn't slip them in there for yuks.

It is interesting, and yeah, there was always mystery surrounding that company. I think market saturation, the explosion of new devices from China, the watt race, and TC all played a roll. Also there was someone who told of a lawsuit that the company was hit with that gave the owners pause. Maybe they didn't want to labeled as tobacco manufacturers, I don't think we'll ever really know what drove them to close, doesn't really matter, they are gone and retired.

I'll be vaping my " vintage " ProV's for a looooong time to come :)

My guess is that it will be a long time before any manufacturer puts as much consideration into the overall fit, finish and durability into a mod that ProV did

Unfortunately, that more than anything led to their demise.

I already have 4 Provari's. (oldest one a V1) So why should I buy another Provari when all 4 of these will out live me?!?

    add:
Lets face it, we live in a throwaway society where "fit, finish and durability" has little value.

The owners retired. They were planning on selling provape to Mike (HOH), but his investors backed out because of the deeming regulations and the markets (vapers) reaction to it. People stopped buying like they were and began stocking up on mechanical mods and such, when provapes sales dropped like they did, the investors ran and took their money with them... he couldn't find anyone else to loan him the money in that environment so he never bought provape, and the owners (as they were planning) retired.

"Worth it" is pretty subjective. Regardless of device, if it fits your budget and vaping style, there's a good chance it worth it. I own a few Provari devices, and I don't regret purchasing any of them. Two of them (The Procyon and the Radius) are usually one of my daily carry mods.
