I hear this all the time that buying a clone much of the time is as good if not better then authentic.

In my experiences so far, I have not seen this. I've had clone attys made by Tobeco, EHPro and Kingtu and every one of them have either felt cheap, didn't last or didn't perform as advertised.

The cap won't stay on my Plume Veil and the center post spins. The cap is flimsy and I have to bend it to stay on which only lasts so long.

My kayfun has very poor threading and the juice channels are so shallow, it's dry hit city.

My derringer feels cheap and I don't get that flavor that everybody rants and raves about. My Mutation X and TOBH are equally as cheap and the screws constantly back out.

Meanwhile I'm two for two with Authentics. My Aeolus screams quality and cannot say a single bad thing about it. I also can't say enough good things about Syntheticlouds customer service when helping me with a matter on a lost AFC ring. Even though their replacement stock was gone, they worked with me for an entire week through back and forth email before finally having one ready to ship.

I just bought a Tugboat V2 last night and its the best vape I've ever experienced. Perfect draw, decent vapor production and explosive flavor. Everything about this atty is top notch from the flawless machining to the screws to the laser engraving. Even the sound it makes when the cap locks perfectly into place. It's definitely not something I've ever seen come from China.

So if there are clones out there as good as this, I would definitely like to hear about them. Because they would certainly save me a lot of money.

I think it's a bit of a crap shoot... Usually when you hear of clones being as good as authentic, its the mods being discussed. Not necessarily materials wise, but performance (I.e. voltage drop). Take for instance my variant clone....authentic is an $800 mod, my clone just under $300.... And the clone has a higher pwm frequency (no rattlesnake, and smoother hit), and the authentic has a flaw that drains the battery even when off...clone does not.

I do have a tobecco kayfun lite clone that performs wonderful, threading is smooth, no burrs etc...but that is where the crap shoot comes in...not all are perfect, even from the same vendor/maker.

So with all that in mind, it's better to buy an authentic atty, and save your money on the mod (talking mostly mechs....dont trust most clone regulated mods, did my research on the variant).

I have a derringer clone, and I've been very impressed with it so far. Gives a beautiful vape, flavorful, and has nice tight top cap and afc. I dont see authentics often, so idk how it would compare. Same with most of what I see. I see clones irl, and some of em are good, some great and a few just terrible. If the authentic derringer is better than my ehpro, I'll give it a shot. It'd be worth the money. FWIW, I tried the tugboat v2 and preferred my Derringer. Could be the build, could be me justifying my purchase lol. I get massive flavor off of this guy.

My nemesis is identical to the real thing. You can't even feel the seams, and have to look close to even see them. One of the 3 is 2 years old now and works perfect still.

My infinite Kayfun 4 has performed flawless.

In my experience I would never get tobeco again. And ehpro is either dead on or slop.

My elm is a 1:1 built every bit as good ad the real on.

Got a gp paaps that works flawless.

But I got a box of crap too. The leaky taifuns and horrible aqua. A stilare with the slot cut wrong, some other one with almost non existent threads on the 510.

A sat 22 they forgot to actually drill holes in

2 kraken one is flawless the other is drilled wrong and shorted out of the box.

You can't just grab one. You have to really research what your getting. This is the best thing about fasttech those guys miss nothing and can spot a missing insulator even in the blurry pictures.

All the same extras, like mcv magnet sets and silver contacts fit in yhe clone as well. Only dif is the serial is bogus, and about 200 dollars.

I have an authentic Stingray X and 4 clones. The SXK clones and the authentic are absolutely identical. I have to be careful to keep track.

My Rose clones are darn close to my authentic. There is one clone thing that gives them away: the afc ring doesn't perfectly line up with the airhole.

I have a clone Aqua v1 that is so immaculate, I can't imagine the authentic is better. And I do have authentic Aqua v2 and SE to compare with.

Recently bought a $15 Phenom clone from FT. I can't believe how nice it is. The switch wasn't assembled correctly, lol, but I figured it out. I'm very impressed with that one for the price. The authentic is $190 so its unlikely I'll buy it considering how nice this clone is.

Unfortunately, I have bought some disappointing and expensive authentics that were poorly made as well. So really, the answer is somewhere in the middle. I have some amazing clones and Chinese authentics. And I have some expensive authentics I wish I hadn't bought (and they make me angry). I've only gotten two bad clones, so I'm actually batting better on the Chinese stuff :|

I have a few clones I swear we're made in te same factory as the authentics

Considering so much is made in china it wouldn't surprise me

I own both authentics and clones ( I think $100+ for a rda is too much )
Wasn't there are slight issue with a famous modder making his atties on a same factory FT bought it's clones from?
Can't remember which atty it was, though.
There are quite a few vendors sellin stuff which they get made in China for them like eXpromizer.

I've never understood the appeal of clones. Why not just buy the genuine. I mean they're not really that expensive when you compare how much we splash out on phones, games, laptops etc.
I love my tobecco kf v4. I'm not about to pay six times the price for an authentic though. I would rather use my lemo at that point....

I have been burned by clones though. My ehpro kf 3.1 (Russian) is a pos that dry hits like crazy. I've had very good luck with the rest of my clones though.
