3 cats, all rescues. The oldest one, Debit, was born in a refinery. I found him at about 3 weeks old separated from his mom. The other 2 of the litter had died. I took him to the vet and was told he may not live
through the night but....if he did, he would probably be very affectionate. I stayed up with him with some kitten formula and force fed him with an eye-dropper, a little bit, every hour or so and on through the next day (I called in sick). Any way.....he'll be 15 in February. He follows me everywhere and is the most vocal cat I've ever known.
I have a soft spot for the down and out.
Eli, my avatar, was found at about 2-3 months old living in a yard with about 25 other cats. He was mal-nourished and neglected. I took him to the vet and then home. I don't think he's terribly bright (in-bred) and he seems to be in a constant state of confusion. He's very timid and shy and has become fairly overweight (
fat). He does, however, have beautiful thick fur and I think there must be a fancy cat (or 2) in his background. He is very sweet but doesn't like the other 2 cats. He's primarily decorative although I treat him like a rock star. He's about 9
And then there's Bugsy, my good cat. He was born in my then-girlfriends yard to a feral mother. She (girlfriend) watched over them and made sure the mother always had plenty of food and water. At about 5-6 weeks she gave me one of the kittens. He looked a little like an insect, hence the name. Other than being fixed and the occasional trip to the vet....he's never really had a bad day. He's bright, curious and playful. He appears to be very well adjusted and likes being a cat. He's about 10
and there you have it.......
