We recently lost our girl fur baby--Star--to cancer. I wanted to post this in loving memory of her. The pic in the thread is Star playing her favorite game with her rope toy. She would lay on her back, and actually lift the rope up by her paws, then lower it down again to chew on it for awhile. :) Then she would bring it to us to play tug-of-war.

She was such a sweet, and affectionate girl. And smart too! A few years ago, she saved my husband from getting bitten by 2 copperheads one day--by grabbing his hand in her mouth, and preventing him from walking forward to where the snakes were hiding in the long grass. Had she not done that, he would have stepped right on them, and likely been bitten. She knew they were there, and she was protecting her daddy. We miss her so much!! And our other fur babies are grieving as well. They miss her too.
Rest in Peace, baby girl Star.

I have three dogs and three cats. I have a shepherd/collie mix, red nose pit and a jack Russell terrier. The shepherd/collie mix and the red nose pit we adopted. We have raised our Pit since he was 4 months old. He is a big baby because that is how we raised him. I know they have a bad name but it's the idiots that raise them to fight should be shot. The breed is a good breed its been given a bad name by bad people. I wouldn't have this dog if he was a bad dog. We have three kids and they love him and he loves them. The Jack Russell we saved from going to the pound. He is very hyper. But very intelligent dog. Then there is the three cats our grey and black is the father to our white and black. Then two weeks ago I saved a grey stripped cat from a garage next to where my niece lives. No one around there knew who's cat it was. So we took her home and making her better. She is a very lovable cat. Actually she is a kitten and she had to share me with our Jack Russell.

Our best friends are part of a pit bull rescue group here in Rochester, they always have one or two dogs they are fostering along with their own big boy. Really nice dogs, will knock you down in their excitement to see you, and try to lick your feet off. So cute! And he remembers too, really smart.. we can go for several months without being over to their house and he'll still remember us. I've never experienced any of them being negative about us visiting, like overly territorial. There is a difference in response between their own dog that remembers us and is happy to see us again, and the foster dogs that are just excited to be able to smell a new person. They all come running and barking excitedly when we ring the bell,of course.

This is SAlly Jesse Raphael! My girlfriends nephew named her sally and since she had a red collar yeah you get the rest..

She honestly has changed my life! I picked her up as a 8 week old puppy back in February from North shore animal league. It was the second time I went there looking for a puppy/kitten and a volunteer brought her over randomly and she gave me a kiss(The puppy not the volunteer). The rest is history!
Whenever I come home now if I'm stressed, all is forgotten the moment the door opens. SHe showers me, and I her with absolute love and affection.. I was honestly terrified in choosing to adopt because I really didn't want things to go badly and having to return her into a cage would of destroyed me.. Well thats my story..

I don't know what I would do without her! Her name is Coco, and she's an australian cattle dog/pit terrier mix. She's 2 years and 7 months old, and still just a puppy! :) Her favorite activities are showing people affection and catching frisbees, and also tug of war. She knows over 15 commands (probably a lot more than that), and she is the only dog I've ever seen or had that does NOT smell like a dog! lol.
