I did enjoy the vape from mine, and seems I was just one of the unlucky ones to get one that leaked, so I did ordered another from fasttech last night, know will take a while to come, but had gift certificate to use, and hope the one from innokin comes in good time.

But saying that. haven't heard anything back from Innokin to say they have actually sent one out yet and not sure where it will come from, so could be waiting a month or more before I have even 1 Ares again :(

I would love that flavor thru out the whole tank... Maybe try wicking it a little different... Tighter wick in the channels or tighter wick in the coil??? Must experiment...

Try both tighter in the coil and channels. That's how I got my Berserker to work perfectly.

Vic is just salty because he helped design the Siren v2 which is a direct competitor to the Ares. If you'll notice, most of his criticism is that Phil "copied" other tanks like the Siren. Well no sheet, Vic. Everyone does and you don't ever seem to care about it in your reviews of other products. Besides, Phil never made it a secret that he loves the Siren v2 (he vapes it in almost every video). It should come as no surprise he took inspiration from it. Besides, Vic should be THANKING Phil for advertising the Siren v2 so much. It's probably put money in Vic's pocket (if indeed Vic gets a commission on their sale, I don't know that he does).

I mean I get it -- if you design something you're gonna take issue with copies. However, tank designs are never going to be awarded a patent, so I guess if you design attys, you'll just have to live with that reality. Evolv lives with China copying everything they do (literally cloning it) and Evolv actually HAS patents. The Kayfun people live with every MTL tank in the past 4 years being variations of their designs, etc. (BTW, the OG Kayfun is still a wonderful MTL vape, it's just a pain in the .... to work with). The vape world is very "trendy" and anything even remotely innovative is instantly copied by everyone else. As they say, it is what it is.

So I recommend watching other reviewers who don't have skin in the game. There may indeed be problems with the airflow or flavor in some cases, and I don't think Phil would take any issue with honest reviews that find such flaws. I don't think he likes angry, snarling hatchet jobs, though. And I don't blame him.

(BTW, I don't own the Ares, as I am not a MTL vaper anymore).

Better flavor with the Ares, MUCH BETTER flavor.

    +1

I like the Siren V2, but the Ares to me is quite noticeable better in flavor than the Siren V2, sure it is because the shower head air holes under the coil on the Ares, they should of stuck with that design from the Siren V1 onto the Siren v2

If they would have done that it would have been 98% a perfect tank, we all know there is no perfect tank but it would have been very close to being just that.

That's interesting - that's the exact opposite of what Vic says in his video.

My own experience with the Siren v1 have been mostly good, but I've almost 100% retired mine since the arrival of the Berseker.

I hated the Berserker's leaking on top fill, but have been filling from the bottom recently and have had survived this minor inconvenience.

I've purchased a Siren V2 and played with it for about 15 minutes, but a friend has acquired it since then, so I can't do a comparison between the V1, V2 and Berserker.

I really want to like the Ares, but have been concerned about some of the reviews.

That being said, if it performs like the Siren V1 without the Siren V1 problems, then I'm certain to get it.

For context, I've been throwing 2.5mm builds into every tank I own, and have found that, the way I wick (packing as _much_ into the coil as I can) 2.5mm builds are the max that the Siren v1 and the Berserker can take. 3mm on the Siren v1 choked it out, and on the Berserker I already have to trim the wicks back a little to put into the channels.

The Ares looks like it'll take my heavy wicking really well, just a shame that the air flow cap will spread air past my coil because I'm only going 2.5mm. I feel the Siren V2 has this sorted out really well.

Good to hear that. I've been patiently waiting on mine. It's sitting in the international postal hub here and probably won't get it until Tuesday.

If you want even more flavour I would probably suggest trying the 2ml version, which is shorter and should help even more.
