Quick question I installed the prebuilt coil that came with it read 1.06 ohms wet the wicks screwed it on and on my mod it said .17 ohms I trimmed the leads as close as possible but do you think they are shorting out? I’m going to get some smaller wire cutters toget in close I mean very little is sticking out and I can’t trim any closer with what I have.

If you can trim any closer, you may need to install the other pre-built coil and try using the twist and tug method to break the wire off closer to screws. This is the method I generally use.

matcas, it might be that your coil is sitting a little high and touching the top of the top bell cap you screwed the base into. I think your coil should be about no higher than the top of the posts. If you feel its the coil ends that you cut off, you may try and bend the coil ends using the screw driver flat blade that came with the ARES. I bend in the direction of the treads. Others should join in and give their thoughts.

Hopefully you don't have this issue - defective due to manufacturer error

Thanks I’ll check that out.

You sir were right coil was sitting too high pushed it down and that fixed it. I’m used too having more room on top. Thanks again.

Glad I was able to help. Also glad you didn't have the post issue that ili_buddy informed us about. That was the first I've heard of that one.

Wow lii buddy, that’s a real QC issue. My Ares works fine, but when all the way full it seeps out the top when tilted. Not much but enough that it’s for home use only, never in my pocket. I wish they would have used the tried and proven screw top.

Hope you are able to get a working replacement as it can give good flavor. I have a juice in it now that I just wanted to burn through and get rid of. But for some reason in the Ares it’s really good. I’m now thinking about ordering more of it. Lol

Wouldn't sliding the top cap closed over the fill hole create less air pressure going into the tank than pushing a top cap down onto the tank, thus pushing liquid into the coil chamber and causing flooding ?? Maybe that is what they were trying fix with the sliding top cap, less of a chance of flooding.

Ok, you people MADE me do it !

I weakened my resolve.. and bought one because.. well just because ! truth is they were available locally and no waiting 6 weeks from China .. and it is my 2 year vaperversarry in a few weeks ..

anyhoo I am actually thinking that it is OK so far... no leaks, nice airflow and OK flavour.. not stellar.. but I am blaming my first coil build using the dimitri screw.. which is not 3mm but closer to 2.5 I suspect.. and I was cooking and in a hurry to try it out .. so my coil build needs to be refined !

For those uncertain about the "shower head diffuser" and I personally do not have a problem with them on the SirenV1..

Siren V1 on left and Ares on right ... the holes on the Ares diffuser are smaller and better spaced... and as a result I find the airflow is very smooth - really nice and the air flow settings.. well I just keep playing with them - there are so many choices !

As a first RDTA for a Vaper new to building coils - I think it would be an excellent place to start - everything is included together with instructional videos online.

but I reserve the right to change my mind at a later date... I am not sure if the flavour is up there with the Siren V1.. but .. its not bad !

What you said makes sense 52. No doubt it’s the easiest filling tank I’ve ever owned. I think my little gasket thingy is defective. If they ever have replacements available I will get some for sure. I just now ran my finger around the top, and felt a film of juice... drives me crazy...

1ynne, just give it some time, the flavor will come. The Ares has an ultra smooth draw that can give rich, creamy vapes with smooth as velvet flavor. And I enjoy it. But, as of yet I can’t get the full and satisfying throat hit from it. Of course this is all subjective.

Still waiting on mine to ship from Fasttech because it was the only place that had the 2ml.

For a tighter MTL draw we would ideally have 30% less holes in the Ares' diffuser.
Or take the diffuser off, chuck some stuff down the hole for an obstruction, then replace the diffuser.

Yeah sure I was just surprised that it wasn't a bit more restricted, consider Phil complained about the Siren V1 being a bit too airy even at the tightest setting. which I completely agreed with.

I think the smallest hole on the air flow adjustment ring is 2.5mm (IIRC) on the Siren V1, and Phil wanted a 2mm hole for him to think it was a tight enough draw on the Siren V1, but there are plenty of us that like tighter draws than that. I guess that we are just weird or something. ;)
