Mine was like this aswell. I let it sit in alcohol over night and washed it again and it fixed the problem

Yeah I gave mine a light rinse when I got it cause there was not any real noticeable oil, but dang I it tastes nasty. I ordered the velocity deck to see if that would make a difference, but to know avail.

No not even in the slightest but I did give it an ultrasonic bath when I first got it like I do to all new attys. But this atty was very clean out of the box.
Which deck are you using? My unit came with the 2 post deck and the coils line up perfectly when snug and when I place the horizontal coils between the top and bottom holes. I usually only use the 2 hold band and line up with the coils. Maybe I just got lucky or maybe that is just the case with the 2 post Velocity style deck. Not sure.
My air holes never lined up with the coils, I had to loosen the tank a little to get them to line up.

whats your serial #? I haven't seen one person on this thread say their airholes lined up. Maybe you got a new batch?
Mine came with the Velocity deck inside the tank. No 3 post deck inside the box and it was all sealed.

Wow, mine is 3614. I ordered mine though, right when the Rip Trippers mania was hitting, so I think they just found an old one around the warehouse and sent it LOL. Right after I got mine they went on backorder.
Maybe I will have better luck on the one I just ordered from eciggity.

Maybe they finally fixed the airholes not lining up issue, but I am skeptical. Hopefully some more new owners will chime in it would be nice to know if they fixed it or not.
Nice, looks like you got lucky! I filed the tank down a tad to get mine to line up. It worked but now my threads are like razors 
My new one should be here Tues, I will let everyone know what version / serial # I get
3 of mine have 2 airholes right bang in the center, and 2 right in front of the neg posts. And one (with a damaged o ring on the base) has the airholes crossing the deck in perfect diagonals. That one is perfect for the quad verticals for a very airy vape.
