Good Morning, I am getting into DIY as soon as my starter kit arrives and was looking into a dripper yesterday. Was thinking using this could be a way to make a coil dedicated for testing flavors. Thinking of just changing the wick and cleaning would be easy but with the microscopic size might be more of a PIA than anything else. Thanks for your suggestion and recommendation.
COOL the Tsunami $29 Geek Vape, has a Velocity style deck that is easy to build or work on with Kennedy Style Air Flow; so kinda the best of everything in an RDA. That is my basis for the suggestion.
Ahhh piece of cake in between those Heads buy yourself a Coil Master Jig or a Coil Puck coils are not difficult to build and really cheap. Will pay for itself in no time plus Coils just the way you want them. ;) Do a couple and you'll end up laughing at how simple.
Good morning and enjoy

I almost bought a Mutation X yesterday but my guy at the Vape Shop recommended waiting a week until the new Kanger Sub Box comes out which will have the ability to use pre-made or custom built coils. Since I have to wait for the DIY kit I have time and the BVC coils to get by when I start the DIY. Spend more time on research and decisions so I make a smart purchase. Thanks!

Shucks get a Sigelei Mini 40 Watts($30), TC, Stealth Size use any Coils you wish.
Truth be known you can use most Coils/Tanks on Most Mods; with the exception of those built in one piece mode(Tank & Mod 1 piece) So don't be fooled.
You're welcome glad to help

PS: P Busardo(You Tube) has some good videos on Coil Building FYI

The guy at my Vape Shop is very good when it comes to educating his customers. Like yesterday when I was looking at the Mutation he pulled out the building kit which I already own almost every tool included in it. Already spent more this week on vaping gear do get into DIY than I have all year! Not counting liquids! :grr:

Yeah it can add up quick, but the rewards are life saving for sure. Plus I'm with you I like to know what is in my E Liquids and having my Coils just right is a Big part of it.
Sure much healthier than the old method of enjoyment.;)
Enjoy and stay tuned to ECF great place for info and help. And there is nothing wrong as long as it keeps you off the Cigs:)
Peace

Well when it comes to the coils and whatever I decide to use my main concern is to try reproducing the cloud and flavor of my main tanks which are Nautilus Mini's with the BVC. Another member I speak to often had some suggestions for builds and wicking to achieve that but will also be a trial and retrial type of adventure. That is why I decided just picking up some coils for now and once I have my main Tobacco recipe tweaked it will be off to the races to find a flavor I that I will create.

Not much action in this thread for almost a year is anyone still using this RBA for the Nautilus? Curious and looking into purchasing one but from the reviews here I am still undecided. It appears that most who tried it have given up on it. Thanks in advance for any new posts.
Well the size was challenging but was able to get a build in and was happy with the results. Problem is removing the build. They should have reverse thread the cap or better yet put notches in or something.

I retired it and moved on

Get an RDA, don't mess with Tank's if you're going to be flavor jumping

Thanks for your input! From what I am seeing online and here in terms of reviews it appears to not be worth the hassles. At $3 a pop local retail for the BVC coils it might just pay to use and clean for testing my DIY liquids once I get started. I was thinking changing the wick might be easy to taste testing but leaning towards a dripper.

The only thing about going with a drip atomizer is trying to reproduce the hit on my Nautilus Mini because from what I am reading different atomizers give a different flavor. I do not want my taste test to be totally different than my every day use tank. So many variables!

Yeah I messed about Tank's a bit for testing my juices, save yourself some headache and money and get an RDA. If you do MTL try the SXK Immortalizer, great for MTL. There are a zillion RDA'S for direct lung hits.

You can always drip directly on the coil, attach the Chimney without the glass on the Nautilus. I did that for a bit before going to RDA'S.

Exactly almost what I am thinking already picked up a bunch of coils for the Nautilus Mini that I can use for testing and with the atomizer being so tiny can basically blow out the liquid with easy. Using the same flavor or a slight variation of it I don't think will be a problem.

Thanks again for your input and suggestions!:rickroll:

As posted I bought two of these...but events overtook me.

My wife slipped on wet tiles in Spain and broke her arm so we found ourselves at short notice back in Scotland for six weeks - during which time I stocked up on drippers and came to terms with them; then concentrated on my two squonkers - all against seeing how the UK would tackle the new regulations. In the interim I also bought two Triton tanks for the same reason, a load of coils for ditto and the RBA kit for the same. Trouble was I found I really really liked squonking and dripping and the Triton Tanks fitted with with 1.8 ohm coils tanks for me outperformed my much loved Nautiluses Minis which are now relegated to back ups...so these kits are languishing in a drawer and I'm now back in Spain with a squonker and three drippers.

As I have found, what you love in this game can change..

I just bought one of these VVTF RBAs for my Nautilus. How the heck are you supposed to build this thing? Holy cow. Wouldn't be so bad if it didn't sit so low in the Nautilus so at least you'd have some bottom support but it's way to low to build on down there. And forget about 28 gauge wire.

I'd really like to use it but I just spent about 45 minutes and I've had no luck at all. Quite frustrating. Anyone have any helpful tips for building this thing?

From their website

Due to the deep base design of 5ml Nautilus, you cannot wick this RBA on 5ml Nautilus Base directly, please wick it well on Nautilus Mini 2ml Base or on a Deck Holder first, then install on 5ml Nautilus

I don't have a mini or a deck holder but shortly after I posted this I went back at it and successfully got a coil on the darn thing. I hope the V2 is a lot easier.
Wait until you have to change the cotton or rebuild the coil. That’s when I retired mine ;)

I have a handful of the +V1's in service, awaiting arrival of 10pack of V2's.

Yes, this thing is small. Some of my full size Nautilus tanks did not much care for the extra spacer at the top of the glass. Yes, if your not careful the glass top will be out-of-round and when you open the tank up the little RBA might come out attached to the top section (a pair of needle nose pliers fixes this real quick).

I mostly run TC builds - SS, NiFe and Ti. 28-30AWG seems to be the sweet spot. Once the coil is in, use the juice channels for your needle nose or tweezers to screw into the deck for dry-burn/hot spot fixing and then remove the same way. I use Silica rope so only a small < 0.5" is needed. I use tweezers to guide/stuff the ends down in the juice channels once the hood is in place - this REQUIRES some careful work as both the base and the hood don't have complete threads so getting them lined up is a chore.

Well worth it! Sub-ohm-TC vaping on the Nautilus. I ordered a 10pack of the v2's to go with Nautilus clones I'm making into kits for beginner vaper friends.

If your really disliking the factory coils here's a tip - find Factory or after market BDC's at a discount. The itty bitty BDC's are easy to remove and then wind yourself a 2mm ID coil of the wire of your choice, fit with rope or cotton and slowly slide it down the tube carefully aligning with where one of the BDC's were. Simple, easy and I've stuffed a 2.5-3mm ID coil in there before!

Cool product, the little RBA's have breathed new life into my army of Nautilus tanks!
