Has anyone cleaned the nautilus coil yet? If so, what was your process and how did it work out. Dry burn? Thanks!!

I dry burned one some last night and it's been soaking in vodka ever since. I'm going to rinse it out really good then let it dry and see how it works. Just got a 5 pack of coils for it today so if I mess up and kill this one it won't be a big deal.

Just had something weird happen with my Nautilus and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I cleaned the tank and everything out (except for the coil) and put a different flavor in it. It was working well the all of a sudden the vapor dropped off a LOT and the coil got really noisy like it was dry. Eventually vapor dropped to nothing. So I took it apart and made sure everything was tight and took some primer puffs on it like I would with a new coil and eventually the noise went away and vapor came back to normal. It was strange like I had just put a fresh coil in without priming. Anyone else experience such a thing? All is well now. I did have it laying on its side because it was on my itaste v3 and I don't like standing it up with the Nautilus because it's top heavy and I worry about it falling over and breaking the glass. I've laid it on its side several times before though and never had an issue with it. Just thought this was kind of odd is all.

Erik, the top of the head seats against a rubber gasket, like an o-ring (maybe black silicon) where it screws into the center chimney. I have had the same experience as you if I'm holding the glass tank instead of the top metal while screwing the tank together. Sometimes if the top isn't screwed on tight enough the glass can start unscrewing just a little and a good seal isn't made against that gasket. Better just to hold the metal at the top while screwing the base with the head on. If the head doesn't seal completely it can draw in air there instead of through the head causing the same symptoms you describe. The glass unscrewing just a little will make the length too long for that seal to be made, but juice won't leak outside the tank since the top and bottom seals of the tank are still being made. Makes it hard to see what's going on. I found this by accident and I'm not sure if this is what happened for you, but thought I'd mention it. Fortunately, it's easy to fix and not really a problem once you realize what's going on.

I didn't think about it either, just stumbled on it really. What's interesting though is that it starts out vaping great with good flavor and vapor, but it gradually diminishes in both vapor and flavor until it's just not enjoyable anymore. Never loses vapor completely, just greatly reduced. I'm guessing that if it sits for a few minutes like after filling the juice it wicks enough to not be noticeable. But after vaping a bit it can't keep the wicks juiced with the air leak. Not really sure at all, just guessing really, but now that I tighten the base differently it doesn't happen. YMMV.
