Are you sticking the eye end of the needle into the atomizer to widen the holes by twisting the needle?

Also, I get past a couple of the meshes and then the other one seems to be over to one side so I am unable to make a pass through to the other side of the coil without fear of hitting it. Should I be trying to push this last mesh back over to the middle so the holes line up?

Try to line up the meshes, this is exactly what this method means, I also did it with an almost new atomizer to make the hole bigger and it is amazing, just do it very carefuly.

You stick the needle in from the battery end and not the cartridge end, correct?

My atomizers are probably not clogged because I've done this haven't noticed any improvements.

Awsome tips.

Let me point a couple things out.

If you have a cellphone with a camera light on it, or a very small bright light that can be covered completely by a atomizers cartridge side....

Put it over the light and you SHOULD be able to see light through the battery hole on the atomizer.

I recommend using a paperclip to realign/clean. As the paperclip is just barely bigger than the hole under the atomizer coil. There is alot less likely chance of damaging the coil this way... just don't push to hard and break the whole assembly free :)

Not all atomizers are created equal, we all know that.

The older they get, the more brittle the glue gets.
I've revitalized about 5 atomizers using this technique today..

My belief, as stated by someone else earlier is that the cause for this working is probably more due to build up than misalignment.

Hitman--You are correct that misalignment and residual clearing are both at play here with the "Jaax Method" as the needle also clears backsided flooding. I have not scene any glue in any of the atomizers that I have taken apart--only a ceramic holder, plastic tubing, wires and contact points, a small coil, and a wicking material that is made of metal mesh--No Glue that I know about. Maybe some that hold the metal threads in the tube? But they seem to just tighten right back in place---Sun

Jaaxx, your method is awesome! Just applied, and my DSE-901 has turned into a steam machine! I also noticed that the sensitivity of the switch has increased a lot. I hardly put it into my mouth and the LED is already blue!

Thanks again!

Surgy--Realigning causes a better airflow on draw--Steam machine it is!!! Sun:)

Hi, everyone.

As far as pushing out the atomizer, yep this is an issue with the 901's. It's not in my pics, but the whole atomizer assembly is in it's own tube and THAT tube is glued into the atomizer tube. The inner tube will come free from the outer tube and slide forward. If it slides more than 4-5mm or so the wires snap and you're done.

When using this method, you can use a little dowel, q-tip, etc. to hold the atomizer in.

I'm still waiting on an 801 to totally die so I can deconstruct it.:p

Jaaxx--the 801's are a breeze to take apart. Using two vice grips, you gently clamp on the plastic head with one and the tube with the other and twist the battery connection right off. You then push the creamic holder out from the cartridge hole with a thin screwdriver. There is no glue and the creamic holder of the coil is cased in a clear rubber clear tube that lets the hole assembly come slip right out. You can take on apart and readily reassemble it in a matter of minutes. I have yet to take one apart that showed any wiring or connection issues and the coil is alway intact. There is mesh all the way around the ceramic holder and that to never shows and degredation--Take a look when you can--Sun:)

Sorry Sun, can't follow that. Need Photo. Mmmmm Photo.
The 801 is a Penstyle is'nt it ? You are talking about just the Atomiser being put in a vice? The Atomiser is quite thin. I could squash one out of shape with my thumb and forefinger.

The 801 and the RN4072 are both penstyles as well as the generics--You use two adjusting locking plier that you set to just grip enough to get a hold of the top (plastic ring that connects to the battery) with one and the other to the atomizer metal body--it will in no way dent or squeeze or hurt the atomizer if you set them to just lightly grap hold when they lock down (the are called Vice Grips--been around for 30 years). And then you just twist out the plastic connector from the metal tube and out it comes. Then you push out the from the inside the ceramic holder with a small long screwdriver inserting in the Cartridge side and push out the battery side. It comes right out as there is a clear rubber housing that surrounds the ceramic holder and acts as a insulator. It is very easy to take apart--very easy----Hope that heps--Sun:)

When I try to align the mesh it just bends the needle... am I pushing on the wrong thing??

It does definitely improve the airflow just by widening the holes slightly, whenever it feels a bit tight I just stick a paper clip in the end a couple of times now and it's back to normal :) :)
