Silver solder? Any particular kind? What kind and gauge of wire is really good quality to use?
How much depends on how much silver you want added to the solder. But for these mods the silver solder you can buy at places like Fry's Electronics for about $5 will do. It's a little more conductive than standard solder but is also a little harder to work with because the melting point is higher.
As far as the gauge wire, I THINK these mods use an 18 gauge wire which would be similar gauge to stock speaker wire in your average car.
If the wire can fit through the holes on the PCB I would change to a 14 gauge pure copper wire. Partially because I have about 100 feet of it already, conveniently in blue/blue w/white stripe which would match my blue clone.

you know what would be nice that i haven't seen yet on youtube or any where else... a step by step video on how to solder and install a dna 30 chip using the hana modz box from start to finish. there is a video on how to wire it and what to solder but he doesn't get in depth (basically just shows him soldering from far away so u cant even tell what he's wiring to) and just skipped the part with the buttons and 510 and installing it in a box.
If my mod fails after it's out of warranty I may make one showing what parts I used, how to route and secure the wires so they aren't a tangled mess, and how to mount the chip so it's free from any epoxy.
