I just dread taking the KM3 all the way apart. Such a PITA.

I didn't completely de-bone mine. I took off the top cap, unscrewed the tank and it's caps, and the base. I did not dissect the base and all the screws, air flow and deck thingie.

It vapes like a dream. A good, fresh coil and wick do wonders for any tank.

I strip all my new atomizers down. The only thing I don't do is take off all the o-rings. Dawn does a great job. I don't scrub, just soak and rinse. The KF4 had 41 pieces and that was just a pita. The KM3 and KF5 are a piece of cake (yeah, I went there... oh wait, wrong thread ).

After you have field stripped a KFv4 a few times it is not even a PiTA anymore.

I had 8-10 in rotation for over a year and it was always a PITA. That's why I never bought an authentic.

After you have field stripped a KFv4 a few times it is not even a PiTA anymore.

More parts, easier to fix.

In that case I can see it, I only have 2 so it was no big deal for me.

Don't get me wrong, when it worked well, it was great. Top filling was great but the juice control and 510 connectivity was a bit flaky. It was a design flaw, not a clone issue.

I like the mini. It's a great vape. I think I like it a bit better than the KF5 but I like the capacity of the KF5.

Yeah it is really too bad that the KF4 was too janky for a good TC build.
I picked up the KM3 Plus V1.5 from FT to see if it would replace the GEM on my Mini Volt, it did not. I don't think I'll bother with the KF5. I'm waiting for them to clone the single coil deck for the SQuape X, then I'll grab a few more of those.

I just got done tearing down, cleaning and reassembling my Tobeco Kayfun 4. I only had one extra piece left over. The smaller of the white plastic o-rings. No idea where it goes!

Big #4 and Small #7 are the white o-rings, you should probably put it back in place or it might be difficult turning the base.

Pretty quick with 13 days from order to door. I threw one in a cart of kayfun parts and tanks so I could test it out.

The good news:

Nice threads all around
Fits a pico no problem
JFC works perfectly
No leaks
Vapes excellent (better than the v3 mini. Cooler vape. I personally like that)
Looks great

The bad news:

No replacement glass is available and might never be! The diameter isn't compatible with any tank unlike other kayfuns where Orchid tanks are interchangeable.

Neutral:

Has the kayfun logo. Helps with counting turns for the JFC but generally prefer clones with no logos.


If replacement glass comes out I'll buy a few more just for fun.

Thanks man! I dug around and only found a glass tank (can't remember which brand) that you actually have to cut shorter. I've done a lot of mods over the years...cutting glass ain't one of them.

I'm quite enamored with this tank. Excellent vape and decent capacity. I'm running a 1.2ohm 2.5mm 28ga kanthal coil and the wicking/flavor/airflow is really sweet. I did a refill when the tank was half empty and not a single gurgle or drip out of the airholes.

Have you seen the Merlin RTA? I've put my kayfuns away since finding it. I'll be going back to my plus's eventually...
