Found this on svoemesto's site. Leads me to think gurgling is a normal issue :-(
Kayfun V4 - Plastic airflow screw
A better choice for hard draft setup
- also usable for Kayfun Mini V3
- no gurgling sound
- stays better in place

Kayfun V4 - Kunststoffmadenschraube
Sorry, Gurgling is not a normal issue...

There are things that you have to consider in having a very tight airflow though.

Thanks. Like what?

How tight do you set it though?
Wicking, Oring Wear, Resistance of Coil VS Power to Coil... The list goes on and on.

Give yourself sometime with the Mini V3 and you'll make it work well.

I sometimes get gurgling in mine, and the best I can figure, it is caused when the legs go slightly over the edge of the air hole. Also spaced coils tend to drip liquid.
I've never heard of spaced coils drip??? I use spaced coils in all my tanks all the time and I never have any problems. I use 100% PG liquids too.

Gurgling is a problem with the build... I had a gurgling issue once and it was because my wick was slightly touching the air inlet and it was running down the tube. I try to keep my coils as close as possible to the air inlet for more flavor in most my tanks and I like a tight draw.

I am trying to confirm that for myself, but ever since I switched to contact coils, the gurgling has stopped. I wrap my spaced coils around a medium threaded screw - around .25 mm space between wraps. Do yours have less/more space in between?

Now I've been using contact coils since spaced coils on the v4 had a vicious pop almost every puff. I used a 20 gauge wire for spacing my 28 gauge build using the coil master trick. YouTube I'm going to try y'alls suggestions. Thanks

I do mine by hand. I just wrap mine 5-7 times around whatever I find... small screw driver, nail or anything that I can find in front of me.

140 pages. No way I can catch up. Can anyone summarize and link to the best v3 mini clone? Are any really worth it ? I have no j Teresa I'm having to find and replace a bunch of o rings. File screws. Bore out channels. I'm looking for close to 1:1 or I don't bother these days. Too much money on garbage. May as well buy authentic. Which I now typically do. But this manufacturer is so popular wi clone buyers I'd have to think there are good ones. Somewhere?

Appreciate the info. I do own and use clones. I'm. It judging. I'm just saying it gets old buying a few versions sit to get one that's sort of ok and you could have spent $40 more for the authentic. Especially at a $100 price point.

That's a massive spacing. Why not wrap 28 parallel then unroll the second wire? Hell for 28 you can just pull it open. It's super easy.

The 2 I got from Focalecig (316ss) are very good. I paid $17 ea for them but they dropped to $10. I got a 304ss version from them as well and it's good but I gave it to my sister. I have 2 black Tobeco's that are very good too.

There are some that are very happy with the SXK version.

What's wrong with large spacing? Lots of pre made coils have it. I assumed it helped with less gunking although I change cotton so often on the v4 that gunking is a non issue. I only have 20 gauge and using 28g for the coil master trick doesn't always work. I like to keep my builds as symmetric as possible and pulling by hand can have uneven spacing. I think space size can depend on target resistance and build space.

Do you have a link for the 316 you really liked? I have had some horrible deride from focal but if that's where he best is. I'll go for it. Especially that price. Though in guessing they're gone now.

Sxk seems to have good reviews in the 5 version. I usually use FASTTECh and they don't list manufacturer. Second choice would be 3f I guess. Not thrilled with them either though.

Any idea if FASTTECh has a good version like you have or SXK ? I'm in a hotel with terrible wifi and it's tough to surf around. I'm sorry to be needy!!

You're right. But in my experience if you space a ton wider than the air feed you're going to lose density and in some cases depending on design you're going to seriously heat the exterior of the mod as well as have uneven atomization. You can end up with the center not feeding as fast and depending on the build you create a bottleneck feeding as the juice vaporizes as fast as it feeds side and the center just gently hard away.

Generally I personally find spacing to fit the air feed gives the best density. The most uniform vaporization and allows me to tootlepuff like a boss without worrying about wicking.

I vape a lot of 90% and I use spaced coils in almost everything. The 90% can really show some
Issues hat were very minor with thinner juices. So as always ymmv. I also care more about density than volume. I want thick vapor. Esther than a lot of anemic. So my builds focus on maximizing that.

I'm also a mtl vaper who uses drip juice in tanks. So pretty minority all the way around but don't knock it til you try it !

Anyway just my experience and thoughts. Thanks for sharing yours. The parallel wrap and removal of wire 2 using a cooking tool would definitely give you perfectly symmetrical coils. Until you wick them if you're using 28 and wick thick they're going to condense. So maybe you're on to something with the slightly larger gauge. Thought j don't think a parallel wrap would work well in a coil master tool with more than one gauge size disparity. I'll have to try. I wrap by hand nowadays. The spacing being slightly off , strangely, of all things, doesn't seem to be an issue compared to exceeding the air feed width or going so wide that the juice never reaches middle.

They've restocked a few times so I don't know if the current batch is good. They also changed the pics so there's no logos but mine came with logos.
focalecig.com - Kayfun Mini V3 Style 2ml 316SS RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - Silver

I wasn't too impressed with the SXK KF5 I got from FastTech. Vapes like other clones (great) but doesn't feel as finished as my Tobecos. There's sharp edges in certain places but it doesn't affect the vape.
