Hey guys, I got another clone from focal ... Im having a problem already. The airflow control doesn't work. I screw in AFC all the way in and it still is an open draw.. It isn't have any effect.. Any ideas?

Can you check the box, what does it say, what brand is this?

My clone from 3F (Lie Feng, "LF" brand) has the same issue although I never figured out if this is supposed to be like this. The screw simply doesn't close the airflow *completely*. What I did, I inserted a small 1mm ring from a QTip into the pipe to tighten it. Works very well. Its possible the problem can also be solved with a Nylon grub screw. Otherwise the LF V3 "Plus" is decent.

Found this on svoemesto's site. Leads me to think gurgling is a normal issue :-(
Kayfun V4 - Plastic airflow screw
A better choice for hard draft setup
- also usable for Kayfun Mini V3
- no gurgling sound
- stays better in place

Kayfun V4 - Kunststoffmadenschraube

Interested to know whether those make airflow even tighter. I have the impression that the internal threads of my clone simply don't go down far enough to *entirely* shut the airflow off. This would mean that even the Nylon screws wouldn't entirely close the airflow.

Wow, that's such a good deal! I only wish my love affair with the Minis wasn't waning. I soooooooo don't like the wicking process and having to get over and down that wall. Drives me KRAZY!

(I use rayon, so I might have to give in and use cotton, eh?)

I use rayon too! :D

I take my tweezers and grab the wick 2mm from the end and guide it down into the juice wells. Then poke the rest down. Works for the KM3 and KF5 and takes me very little time now.

I still think the KM3 has slightly better flavor than the KF5 but it's getting better every time I try something different with every build.
