Got the black KM3 from FT this afternoon and have been trying to get it to work. I started with a Ni200 coil as usual and I kept getting Short or Check Atomizer. I tried this on 3 different DNA200 mods and a DNA40 mod. I broke it down multiple times and at one point, it caught fire with just the base on the mod. Not promising for a TP coil.

I ditched the coil and tried a Kanthal coil. It works most of the time but it does go to Check Atomizer every once in a while. The resistance jumps from 1.42Ω to 1.51Ω. I've taken the base apart and can't see anything wrong with it. It looks like this one uses a peek insulator. I tried with the afc screw out and it made no difference. I can't see any metal shavings that might create a short. The machining seems pretty good but it just can't hold a steady resistance.
I was having similar issue on both my Tobecos and found what needed fixed: take a SIX point 5mm socket (dont think they make 12pts that small anyway) and a 5/32 open end wrench (think that was the size) on the top plate or post part, and tighten the crap out of it. Squeeze that oring a tad, not too too much though. Then your 510 will stay dry and resistance will hold steday. Worked for both mine anyway, hope that helps

The machining is better . You get an extra glass and the beauty ring.

Not to sound like a broken record, but had that one on order, and fasttech emailed me and said future batches would have plastic tanks, even says in description -
    • Comes with a spare acrylic tank
Pretty expensive if no glass tank.

When I took it apart to clean, the center pin was loose so I tightened it with a 5mm socket (6pt Snap-On socket ;) ). I use a small flat head screwdriver to hold the pos block in place so it doesn't short. I thought maybe I tightened it too much so I loosened it and neither position helped.

My 2 other KM3's work fine on all my mods after figuring out the afc screw was out too much but still well within the center pin.

I use a piece of wire that fits in each opening to hold the positive block in place. I hear a paperclip works as well.

I put it in a U shape. Forrgot to say that, kind of important

I was afraid to use screwdriver for bending the shroud/ring part.....China cheap metal ya know... but sounds like you are already one step ahead of me on all that..if not three:thumb:

Ok I'm still waiting on my mine from 3fvape but they are in transit. It currently says monday. I initially gathered from here that the clones were perfect, but what's this about a paper clip??

I hate it when something doesn't work as it should. Reminds me of 'oh just use some dental floss and you're good!'

Seriously, is there an issue on all of the clones?

This is a very small issue that also comes with the authentic ones. It's only to tighten the positive block after the initial cleaning. You should not need this again, but if you over tighten the screw holding the coil to the block it might move.

    Again, same as the authentic.
