$16 (plus shipping from England? That wasn't entirely clear) for a half of a kit isn't that much of a bargain. My comments was on that only not on who is selling or promoting. That's their choice.

The only problem I had with the post was the way it was presented,'ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS', cus the way the forum is still working out its kinks from the move, I thought man, must be a serious issue!

I think the issue is that Lu is an admin and her posts, particularly with the title this topic has, hold far more weight than any regular member. Having an admin flog goods for a supplier in an area off limits to all other suppliers definitely sets a bad precedent. The appearance of favouritism is inevitable.
I think you just helped me find what I can give some people in their stocking this Christmas.

Exactly! So does this leave the door wide open for all of the other moderators, or any other people as far as that goes, to advertise "great deals" in the General Discussion thread whenever they "feel they have found a great deal?"
Well there is no favoritism here Nuck. Didn't I say that if it were any supplier offering the same type of deal, I would have mentioned that too?
Members post every day about good deals on the general forum....and about suppliers they like (God forbid I do that...I'd be burned at the stake!). If I was promoting the product, that would be different. If I was even suggesting people go buy them, that would be different. I was merely making people aware of a deal they might be interested in...particuarly for those who might not have a lot of $$$ at their immediate disposal.

What??? People come on and promote products and suppliers they like every day! Seen the reviews boards lately? I own a Mini Pipe, Prodigy, Protege, ZiMoshi, Chuck, a JS and 2 laser mods. Do you see me coming on here and promoting those or the suppliers? I made members aware of what was a good deal to me. People do that every day here. Where have you been?
Edit: Oops...maybe I shouldn't have mentioned what I own! I carry so much weight here, people might run out and buy them too....and it might appear I'm promoting certain suppliers

Why on earth would you try to discredit my post with your ridiculous forum war. I want no part of it over there and I want no part of it over here. I've always posted my own opinion and you of all people should know that.
You are not a regular member and yes, your posts hold far more weight, particularly for newer users. In the end I don't really care if you ban all other suppliers and banner ad the ones you like. I was expressing my opinion on the issues raised.
There is a BIG difference in members posting deals and a very well known administrator/moderator posting a "deal." Most of us know that if anybody else would have done this, the thread would have been deleted IMMEDIATELY!
Honestly, I don't know where you're getting this. Anyone who read that thread would be welcome to come here and say they found a great deal. I really can't believe you're serious. Where are you getting this? The only ones who can't advertise something like that is the suppliers themselves.

what lu cant say the name of the forum? is it really that bad? no not everyone is from "there" i can't believe that you really can't understand why people are upset. the people that are posting are people that have been on the boards a long time. not just here not just on spikeys forum but other forums too. in fact im usually on every day here to post about my club meets. soooooooo long story short. you are a higher up mod u know it the vets know it and the newbies are sure to learn of the power you have here. this thread should never have been started with the title you gave it. that is why people are upset that and being that you are in the position you are in with SJ.

as members we have rights to get "into" this as you so nicely put it. as a mod aren't u supposed to regulate fairly and not just as you see fit?
