First, the Mini does not wick same as the original Merlin, If your using cotton do keep in mind it expands a fair bit when it becomes saturated.
@Coach_Nat your build looks like something I'd be using to choke off a very high PG liquid, even then if you've not thinned those tails at the tips it may be too much.
The build definitely looks like a choker.
Here are some pics of a rewick on mine, I use no less than 80VG liquid, density may need to be adjusted for thinner liquids. Current build is 3mm twisted .28g .7 ohms I can chain vape the tank dry @45 watts and maintain full saturation until the tank is gone. So far zero leaks, completely dry fills.
Didn't need to rewick yet, but done for pics.
This is after maybe 50ml of liquid.
I started out with maybe a 4-5mm cut from a sheet of Muji, peeled two outer layers, twisted the end.
Left side thinned by maybe 1/3 by tip of my scissors, then repeat on right side.
Both tails lightly pushed into cups, not packed tightly.
Heat pulse primed wick, ready for the tank.
Quick, dry fill.
It is a bit different then I wicked the original Merlin, which I never intentionally put wick ends in the cups of it, just sort of laid the tails over them all fluffed out.
So far I've had no leaks during fill, no dry hits.
As I mentioned previously it is easy to wick, only thing you really need to consider during wicking is how thick your liquid is, and adjust the density of your wick accordingly.
EDIT: You might also try to keep your coil wraps same size, especially at the ends, the outer turn on your build looks a little large, and may cause some popping, or burn the juice causing a bit of harshness where it does not contact/loses contact from the wick which seems to sag a bit after time.
