If you dont have an IRC program: Mibbit IRC Client login (can be flakey at times).

The web client sometimes cracks it and kicks people. This is a fault of the application and will happen to everyone using it from time to time. If it does, give it a minute, rejoin and all will be good.

Ok, so it's not just me. First time I tried logging on (few hours ago), it'll just sit there trying to connect to server. So I simply thought the plugins I had for Firefox/Chrome weren't adequate

The web interface is proving to be fairly flaky at the best of times.

MIRC is a dedicated IRC program, is free and may be a better option. If you want some screenshots on how to configure and use, let me know.

I'm using Chatzilla (a free add-on for Firefox) which works fine as well. Again, if you need a hand setting this up, let me know.

Ecigz have created their own IRC server which is creating confusion (they use the same channel name as the general chat IRC). To simplify things:

If you have mirc or chatzilla (free Firefox add-on), try them. The address you connect to using those is irc://irc.pirate-net.info/aussievapers

mibbit does have limits on the number of simultaneous connections and has a habit of kicking everyone when that limit is exceeded (sometimes even gives you a banned notice - which you should just ignore).

All that has changed is the domain name, ie: aussievapers instead of pirate-net
