Over on the snus forum that I frequent, there has been an ongoing discussion of e-cigs. And someone noted this that I believe is true: If e-cigs had come from Big Pharma or Big Tobacco, they would have been welcomed and accepted. But they come from China and we know NOTHING about their contents that can be said with assurance. This is untenable and that's why action is considered necessary to either ban or regulate them.
I remember a poster last January, Perfectionist, who said if the e-cig had come from Apple as the I-cig, it would be accepted and would sell billions worldwide without any protest. But Apple didn't give us melamine, either.
Its today's situation that can't continue. And it worsens daily with modern-day carnival barkers drawing in the sheep to fleece at mall kiosks.
"It's the new miracle of technology, my friends, a cigarette-like device that will free you from the Demon Weed. No tobacco. No fire. No limits! Smoke it anywhere. It's healthy too. You'll quit nasty cigarettes without cravings, without irritating others, all the while adding years to your life.
"Listen up now. This fabulous product can be yours, not for $500, not for $300, not even for $200, but for only $159. And if you act now, we'll throw in, absolutely free, an extra pack of cartridges with unknown contents. Step right up, ladies and gentlemen. Don't push now. There's plenty for everyone ..."
With e-smoking friends like that promoting us, we don't need enemies.
