@Jman8

ive already said a few times, along with lots of other people how we think the clone side will win, not going to repeat it.

and its nice to know we are the same as murderers, not sure how buying a clone and murder is the same, wasn't it you that said compare apples to apples? if it wasn't you that said then my bad, but that's still like comparing apples to zebra's.
please don't misquote the poster and take comments out of context.
i thought only ANTZ and politicians did that.

much has been said in defense of clones by such statements as, i can not afford the original and,
we are all vapers and should be helping each other.

as to the first i want a Cadillac and can't afford it.
my choices,i'll have to buy that KIA,i can afford that.
it doesn't guzzle as much juice anyway.

i am all for helping my fellow man when i can.
i can't however fault a commercial enterprise for not
acting like the Salvation Army.
the industry is maturing and as such will start to make,...wait for it...,
mature business decisions.

Don't forget there are those of us feel a 200 price tag is "ripping off the consumer". I would not pay 200 bucks for a mechanical mod made out of steel regarding of grading. I do not see value in it at all. You can call me whatever you will like. It will still not change opinion. Some of us can afford the authentic at that price, but I will not set the cash out for it. I also will not research whatever product I am buying to see if the required patents, trademarks, copyrights or whatever were made. I make an educated purchase on almost anything I buy from 5 bucks to xxxxx bucks.

To me most of the logo and names are stupid. I have no better term for it than that.

Because you asked me.. and then implied something about the law which I do not know, which you have yet to show.

Say Whaat? Oh my, such confusion over whether or not it's illegal to sell counterfeit goods. That is what I was referring to. I also never asked you a question. In fact, you asked me!

The only implication was this somewhat common phrase:

Ignorantia juris non excusat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One law is referenced here:

"The federal criminal laws that prohibit any person from trafficking in counterfeit goods and services apply not only to the counterfeiter—the law applies with equal force to any individual or company that knowingly sells a counterfeit product. (18 U.S.C. 2320). This law, known as the Trademark Counterfeiting Act of 1984, carries substantial monetary fines (up to $5 million) and prison time (up to 20 years imprisonment or in some cases life) for individuals and companies who violate the Act."

Above quoted from here: Did You Know It's Illegal to Sell Counterfeit Products - NAW Government Relations

Here's more: https://www.google.com/search?utm_source=b&utm_medium=&from=&uid=&q=Is+it+illegal+to+sell+counterfeit+goods&gws_rd=ssl

Geesh, I even posted a New York Times link that discussed the law and how it is being enforced in circumstances quite similar to the vaping industry. I actually thought it was an interesting read on the subject and quite appropriate. Oh well.

how about buying what you can afford? why a clone?
patents, trademarks, and copyrights have nothing to do with it and
lack there off is not a valid reason.
a 200 dollar price tag is no excuse either as people are buying them
at that price. that's its relative value.
200 dollars is way out of my range too. i wont buy a clone.
i think because its called a clone instead of a knock-off is
part of the problem. makes it sound more sanitary.

There are certain reason people purchase a product.... whatever the reason may be.. Made in the US.. Color.. Size... whatever. Price is also one of them. Some people buy 1 mill plus $ homes.. Others buy 100k $ homes.

Forcing me to buy something because I can afford it is silly. I can afford a 3k lawnmower.. I bought a 400 $ one. I could have afforded a 100k pool. I bought a 60k. You don't have to buy a clone. I do not care what you buy, I will buy the clone.

200 bucks is not an excuse. Why would I pay 200 bucks for something I do not value as 200? I can get it for 20 bucks. Legally? I don't know anymore. Personally I haven't seen anything that contradicts the legal aspect. A lot of conjecture but no hard facts (that goes for me too) sans the ones that have actual IP protection in place.. It apparently is working.

Don't know. The only reason I know my mech is a knock off is because I read ECF. If I didn't read here I never would have known. They both mowed the grass. One was a rider and the other a walk behind.

If I would have went into any B&M and picked up the mech..I would not have known. The same with the lawnmower.

Last thing. Interesting this showed up today. Take a look at Foxnews.. or any other new source. At the UN meeting on Climate change, China basically told Obama, No, to any reductions in greenhouse gases unless the US pays for China's reductions. Now how does it fit into this thread?

"--Western countries also need to remove “obstacles such as IPRs [intellectual property rights]” to “promote, facilitate and finance the transfer” of “technologies and know-how” to developing countries in advance of any future climate deal;"

Climate change? China rebuts Obama | Fox News

Now I am not against property rights.. but this is just ..........

After much googling I have only found links talking about the US and China working together to come up with a plan to help the greenhouse problem. Faux News is the only one I was able to find with anything remotely inflammatory to say about it, and they are about as much of an acceptable source as my .... is an acceptable source of rocket fuel.

Way to go missing the entire point. Not surprising though by your words. It was the passage I highlighted. That china wants to remove the IPRs in the deal.

Don't let your hatred show through.

The IPRs are some of what the discussios here have been about. This would effectively remove any of the barriers of trademarks copyrights and patents.

Just don't light a match near your nether regions.

Nothing to do with hatred at all. Common knowledge that Fox News is a huge joke. I would be happy to learn more about the IPR points being made from just about any other source.
