I've read lot of fabricated and theoretical reasons why mod makers can't/wont shift production to China, so far i'm unconvinced by any of this pseudo-intelligence. While certain stupid mod makers are busy scratching their balls and forking out for legal teams, companies like Erlkonigin are rising to the occasion and making sure they get a share of the profits in the alternative market segment by making their own clone https://shop.erlkoenigin.com/en/erlprinz/erlprinz.
Companies like Erl and Zen are adapting brilliantly to market conditions and will continue to thrive - while many of the companies stamping their feet and crying because 'its not fair' will eventually fade and die, and the more sour and obnoxious they act on the way out the funnier it'll be to watch.
Lets not forget the companies like Indulgence (mutation x) and the vape overload (unicorn) show that not every mod maker needs to run an exclusive boutique and manufacture in the west to produce good quality products. There's a market just waiting to be ripped into in the mid-range/lower end spectrums, and the limited runs and high prices of the boutique side of it don't always equate to quality or innovation anyway.
