Well, I wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions and comments. I had a lot to think about to try to solve my “bad taste” problem, and I think it’s partially worked out.
I believe that my mouth chemistry really is contributing to the yucky tastes I’ve been getting. Keeping hydrated, using mouthwash and switching up flavors are all things that help a little. But, and I can’t stress this enough, if you have the same problem, try a variable voltage device. When the taste is bad, I can dial the voltage, usually down, to minimize the gross-ness. Ultimately, the juice doesn’t taste like much of anything, but at least it doesn’t taste like old rubber, burnt popcorn, dirty chemicals and machine parts.
I had a taste-break-through the other day. For about 3-4 hours, everything tasted great. I don’t know what happened. It was as if my tongue awoke from a deep sleep, and I could taste subtle nuances in the juice I was vaping. It didn’t last long, but I’m hoping that things will clear up and I can taste as others do. In the meantime, I will vape with my crippled little tongue and continue to be thankful for the device, quitting smoking, and feeling better. If anyone has any further suggestions or comments regarding persistent yucky tastes, feel free to post them for your poor, afflicted, bad-tongued compadres.
Cheers!
