It almost looks fake

I was thinking that, too. He's got rather amazing dexterity for a two year old; he appears to be twirling the cigarette at one point.

And, of course he's going to throw a fit and scream if they refuse to give him one. He's addicted to nicotine, .......

Thats what I was thinking.. my son is two and theres no way he would know what to do or how to do.. I don't know. If it is true, then it's very sad and it pisses me off.

I posted this link in here somewhere yesterday.. as far as I am concerned it's called CHILD ABUSE. I wonder if the parents will be giggling when their six year old child has stage three lung cancer. It's completely disgusting. I realize they may not have decent educations in his country, however, how much education does it take to know that cigarettes are killers?

I hope that is fake...maybe it is really an adult with some kind of dwarfism?

He certainly puffs like he means it and I think he did twirl the cigarette in his hand as someone else previously mentioned...hard to believe that he is only 2. I have seen two year old children who weren't able to use a straw to drink.

Either way, me no likey. :(

"Indonesia has one of the worst smoking records in the world, with a population of 250 million people; they are listed as the third most smoking country behind China (1.3 Billion population) and India (1.1 billion population).

It is reported that over a third of the country smokes, and 90% of the country’s smokers smoke a native cigarette which has twice the levels of tar and nicotine in an average cigarette around the world.

Government figures show that 25 % of Indonesia’s children aged 3-15 have tried cigarettes at some point and 3.2 % of those children are active smokers."

I can't condone this but remember different cultures find different things acceptable. If they were in the US those children would be taken from the parents and put in foster care, etc.

In many poorer countries I think this atrocity might be perceived by the parents as a smaller problem than trying to meet the family's more immediate needs such as food, clothing and shelter since the consequences won't be apparent for years. It is sad that the parents are starting this childs life with and addiction that clearly many adults and other children around the world (including the members of this forum) struggle with daily. I want to be outraged and horrified but truthfully when I think of the millions of starving, orphaned children (some as young as this boy) digging through garbage to find their next meal their stomachs distended with parasites it's hard for me to worry as much. They may not be great parents but at least he is fed and has someone to hold him when he is hurt or frightened. We assume the parents are laughing but unless someone can translate what they are saying I don't think we can assume that they are indifferent.
