Hi guys and gals......I am going to run into a delimna in a couple of months and was hoping for some advice.
I have a trip coming up where I will be couped up with a MIL that is extremely religious and very anti drinking and smoking.
I quit smoking in 2009 and have been on ecigs since. I am down to 3mg vape juice but I vape a lot....constant day/night. I will go absolutely bonkers if I can't get a nic fix for the 5 days on the trip.

I have seen the ON! products but have no info or knowledge about the nic pouches. Would that work? If so...how do you use them? Do you have to spit like regular chew? Are there other products to consider? Have you handled any similar circumstances in your lives? She means well but she's 94 and not about to change her views. Gospel music is about all she likes and I'm thinking this trip will be stressful as it is so I need a plan!!!!!!! Help please.
Thanks to all of you,
Ken

Vaping exclusively since 2013. In situations where I can't vape (airline flights and such), I used to use nicotine gum. In fact, I used nicotine gum in situations where I couldn't smoke long before I switched to vaping.

A couple of years ago, I was called for jury duty and decided to try pouches instead. I bought both on! and Zyn. I can't quite say why, but I ended up deciding that I prefer Zyn. I used 'em on a flight this past weekend and they were fully effective in that I never developed the urge to open the emergency exit and climb out on the wing for a vape at 30,000 ft.

I will say this: Gum is easier to control the dosing / release rate with. Pouches hit fast, even the weakest 3 & 4 mg ones, and there's little you can do to slow that down. I suppose it's possible to get gum to hit just about as fast by chewing it aggressively right away, but you don't have to.

Additional context: I'm strictly an MTL vaper, down to 11 mg these days, but I do vape pretty much constantly during waking hours.

I use nic lozenges for situations like that. When I first started vaping they didn't work because I needed a lot of nic. Now I don't need much nic at all and half a lozenge will keep me happy for a long time. I've gone for a couple of days just fine with lozenges. If you get the large size lozenges you can break them into small pieces to control the flow.

@CSI - You might want to give the following a try.

For about the last 10 years or more, while on long flights to and from Alaska and Florida...I don't miss being able to vape any more on the flights. I carry a 5mL or 10mL dropper tip bottle of my 6mg eliquid in my purse. About every 2-3 hours....I just put 2-3 drops of the eliquid under my tongue. It works for me really well, even though my vapes are usually in pretty constant use otherwise.

Wow folks....didn't expect such great replies. Sounds like I have some options to consider. Luckily I have a month to experiment and see what might work. I'll probably try each of your suggestions and come up with a plan. I have so dreaded this trip up until now. She means well but she is a handful to deal with. She's still fully full of vigor and not slowing down very much at her age. Heck, she still drives 10-20 miles a day to all of her appointments and shopping...doesn't even need glasses!
Thanks again for all the great ideas.....time to experiment....should be fun.

Do not be surprised if any of them seem a bit strange and possibly even unpleasant at first. They will all take some getting used to.

Heck, even vaping took some getting used to way back when. :)

I didn't know you could use e liquid drops like that. That's interesting. Can't imagine the ratio to use to be effective?
I did find out something though....I went to the website listed in the first response here and tried to place an order for some Zyn and on! containers. I was blocked for ordering based on where I live. Seems they won't ship to Alabama! I get vape juice shipped here all the time but seems I'm out of luck with the zyn/on stuff.

Try Northerner, they sell just about all the nic pouch brands and do carry on! pouches.

There are a few folks on ECF who order from them. I have also ordered from there. Never had any issues, their prices are decent and shipping is fairly quick.

The Grizzly brand is very popular with a couple folks here. I like their wintergreen and mint flavors. I also like the FRE Original (flavorless).

If you have smoke shops nearby, try those, they all sell them around here. Gas stations also sell nic pouches.

Good luck!

You should use as many drops of liquid that do the trick. I use dropper full sometimes in water or a drink. Or a few drops on my tongue at times.

I don't really need it because I constantly vape. I just do it for enjoyment.
Nicotine is a forever nutrient for me. It is beneficial and harmless.

Well.........i have had a few days working with the ON! and ZYN products. I think I prefer the ZYN better...don't know why...just feel better. I like all the flavors so no problems there. Wintergreen seems to be my favorite so far.
I don't think the 3mg dose is doing it for me though. I think I'm going to have to use the 6mg. I still prefer vaping but now I know I have a way to survive the upcoming trip!!!!! You don't know how I have fretted over this trip...trying to find excuses to get out of going. She's a nice lady and loves me to death...but so opinionated..............
Thanks again for all the replies, they were all a big help.

Interesting information in that link. The pouches do seem to have a cost savings associated with them. I'm surprised how long they last.
I get to have a trial run here starting this evening. We are going tonight to visit and have 3 mini-trips planned through Sunday. This should give me a good idea on how the longer trip will go. Can't believe I'm in my mid 60's and still worried about such stuff. Crazy.
Thanks again,
Ken
