I am not bashing MFS's, I think they are a great company that have a lot to offer to the vaping community!
That said, I too suffered a credit breach that I can almost certainly track back to a CC transaction with them.
I use a specific card to pay a few monthly expenses and on the rare occasion will use that card for vape gear. I made a large order from MFS when they had their coil sale (I even posted a link to the sale in deal and steals).
Well starting on Friday the bank called us and asked if we had been trying to book flights to Paris!!!???!!!
Well of course we had not and were very grateful to the bank for catching it!!
But that was not the end, turns out that one of the flight transactions had gone through which either emboldened the thieves or made then more desperate because they attempted to make thousands of more dollars in airfare purchases!!!!
I do not blame MFS, but I would strongly suggest that they do way more to protect their customers info.

Let's be very careful where we go with this folks. While MFS may be aware of the issue, it's not a foregone conclusion that they're responsible for the breach, nor do we know that a breach occurred within the servers under their control. If this occurred with their payment processor, MFS is totally innocent in this and folks need to stop tossing their name around.

Making me paranoid cause MFS is my #1 go to for gear. I just love them. On the bright side, it's good the cc companies kept an eye out and these monies are recouped. Just watch careful. Thanks for the head up OP. It's good to be reminded. Last time my CC was comprised, totally not vape related shopping, they ordered body shakes. Seems to me a thief would have better things to buy after the trouble of thieving.

They've had this problem several times before. After having to replace 3 cards, I stopped ordering from them. Hate that it is happening again.
If this is a repeated problem over years and the company just keeps pushing responsibility off on their processor, have they never changed processors? If not I'd consider them just as responsible.

I've ordered from myfreedomsmokes many times. It's where I get my vg, pg and nicotine. Not once have I had a problem with them over the course of 2 years with orders.

The problem with credit cards now, even just watching the news you see someone just has to walk past you on the street or in a store and they get your credit card information. Not saying it isn't MFS in this situation but I'm not saying it is either. I'm also aware of the past posts of people mentioning the same problems as you, but I'm just giving my experience which is 0 issues for me through them.

I had one of my cards hacked twice.

Once was with a federal credit union.

Got a call and a snail mail notification and a new card arrived a couple days later. Never interrupted anything.

Which is tough for me because I'm making purchases in a different state nearly every day.

The other time, I think was an inside job.

Wachovia tracked it back to an ATM I've still never used at a strip mall I was at frequently at the time.

I went through so much hell, I felt I was being investigated as a murder suspect.

I closed that account in the negative and never looked back.

There was another time my actual account was hacked.

Charge after charge, most around $300.

We were going back to the bank for $1,500 charge backs twice a week at one point.

I have no idea how many times we closed that Bank Of America account. I lost track in the mid twenties and we were far from half done.

I LOVE my credit union.

And our back up account is now with a little local bank that everyone raves about and is very trusted.

Haven't had an issue in some time.

Knock on wood.

I actually posted these same words the last time this subject came up since I too had been buying from them for a couple of years and then I discovered that I had been hit too. I had to eat my words when I received an email from MFS letting me know that I ordered during the time the mess was going on and might get hit. There was no might to it, it had already happened :( I hope everyone is keeping an eye on their accounts and I also hope the problem has been taken care of.

It seems like the hacker waits until they are having a sale on something everyone wants so more damage can be done  Sadly it is going to happen to just about everyone at some time because of this convenient computerized world we find ourselves living in.

I would change my reply if I noticed the problem and received the email. It's probably been 6 months since I've ordered from them. Bought 3 liters of nicotine so I shouldn't have to order again for a while. But I figured if I would be hit with this, it would've happened already.

Very true with our world. Especially the soda machines that have the credit card option in college. I used it one time and that is the 1 time I got hit with credit problems :-x

Actually, I was told it was more of a 'visa' problem. Something about weaknesses' within their programs.
After my visa was hacked for the 3rd time(always was caught by me or the bank almost immediately, and I was never liable) I moved away from that particular bank and Visa have gone with Master Card. Haven't had any problems since.
Just food for thought.

This is the second time I have had my credit card compromised after ordering from myfreedomsmokes. My last order was placed on March 26th and not long after that someone tried to use my card information. I had not used that card for about 4 months prior to that transaction, so I know it must be related somehow. Not happy about it at all.

I was wondering if there might be a visa versus MC (etc) issue also. Would be interested to know.

I still need to check on my card since I've made orders in March and April

My breach was with discover.

Imo they're a good company, it's the cc processor that's the issue

Lol. I don't think it is because they are competitors, per se. All I know is what I stated in my post above.

Dang. I just wanted it to be a visa problem. o_O
I think their card service company is likely the source of their problems, and any card information stolen is compromised. My amex got hit last month, but it would have been a different vendor because MFS doesn't take amex.
