I don't know if anyone has said this yet or not but I'm going to lol... I've ordered from totally wicked a few times and never paid with paypal. Theres ways around it... you can click on "pay without logging in" and do it that way

Sure they can! Just as they forced all the carries not to bring cigarettes from other states... what about forcing Amazon to charge NYS AND NYC taxes??? yeah, that happened too.
Now, as you mentioned; true, "technically" you can buy online; the deal and money exchange (which constitute the purchase) is not done in NYS, so we can buy until they realize it and then amend the ban to include carriers.
Buy one of those pay as you go credit card things and use that - problem solved.

Im sure NYPD are busy enough with real crime - why would they enforce a ban even if it gets passed? No-one thinks of the poor overworked police in all this; I swear these legislators just pass spurious laws to validate their employment.
If you really want to upset NYS then write the tourist board, and tell them youre cancelling your trip (and so are family and friends) due to this. That's always something that starts an inter-department war

I dunno. Like I said, people who are in countries where they are banned are buying the stuff online. We buy illegal pharmaceuticals from Canada and overseas online. It's very tough to stop online trafficking. Large wholesale shipments, sure, but small consumer orders, it's going to be tough. And there are too many other ways around it. As someone else already pointed out, you can ship to an out of state friend or relative then have that person mail it to you. If you're near a stateline, you can cross it and buy retail. Unless they can ban them in every state, which won't happen since many state legislatures are not ideologically in sync with banning stuff like this, then I don't see any ban being more than a serious inconvenience for vapors in the banned area.
Look how easy it is to get hard drugs, and that's a felony. This won't ever be a felony.

that is still using pay pay....just not signing up for an account....again, i have ordered several times, and up to last week without issues. i tried again, and it gave me the same error. my card is indeed valid, and i do have plenty of money in my account.....so something is going on - thanks for all the feedback.....

Another poster mentioned this--when the cigarette taxes in NY became astronomical, everyone turned to Indian reservations to avoid the tax. FedEx and UPS voluntarily stopped shipping cigarettes to NY residents, and we were left with the USPS. The law has since been amended to make it outright illegal to ship cigarettes into NY State.
For the moment, I'm confident about getting supplies online--but if we lose the fight in NY (which I fear we will--the Senate health committee is voting on this bill during a closed session) other states might follow. How far off is a national ban?!!
Don't think it's possible? I know I'm not the only one who remembers a world where you could smoke just about anywhere. Did you ever think you would live in a country where you can barely smoke a cigarette in any other place besides your own home? Where child custody cases are being decided based on the smoking choices of the parents? Where legislators have actually toyed with the idea of making it illegal for you to smoke in your own car?!!

Not really sure--but I seem to remember reading here that some ECF members did attend the meeting and were allowed to speak/give written letters to the Illinois legislators. Kristin or some other CASAA member would know for sure...
