Never tried it. My wife did eye me curiously, however, when I came home with a package of Japanese cotton (Shiseido) from the local beauty supply store. Seems to work well, and since I have something like 60 pads, it should last for a while.

yea, I got that look from my wife one day when we went to a little mall to buy some shoes for her, I said oh, theres a sally beauty I will meet you back at the truck, I come walking out of the store with this 12"x12"x12" box of rayon cotton ha ha!

I've been using mostly rayon lately, with some regular cotton and ecowool mixed in depending on how fast I want or need the topper to wick. I've found the differences in wicking speed helpful in getting just the right amount of juice for the heat and air flow I prefer.

Edit: Question...does it wick faster or slower than say, rayon or regular cotton??

I dont really know, its just handy and easy to pull off strips and wick an atty. ever hear of my "rotton" creation?
I blend rayon cotton and cellulo cotton to come up with "rotton" ha ha! I did a short video on it

I have made and wicked so many coils... let's see now... uh hm... carry the 3... yep. 3. As such, I've not even gone through what camw with the subtank...and, when I bought my kanthal, the gave me some oc cotton balls. Believe I'm set for a while. That said, I don't think I will try cotton bacon. I think it is a marketing gimmick. The Japanese cotton, on the other hand, does appear to be superior.

I have tried the japanese cotton and it seems to blacken rather quickly. the cotton bacon is pretty good stuff. some guys i know down here sell this cotton from NC that they have named "unicorn Pubes" Ha Ha! rewicking as often as I have been rayon, or pure cotton or cotton bacon doesnt matter. have used a bit of hemp lately and it works great, very short break in but IMO lasts just slightly less time than the cotton. I guess it also depends on PG?VG ratio and flavor

Not An Entry . . .

is'nt that 80/20 harsh on the throat?

It is only one that is 80/20 and the "Flavor" is very lite - so not harsh at all . . . ;)

HEY - For over 45+ years I smoked a Strong "True Menthol Tobacco" and up to last couple of years it was approximately 2 1/2 to 3 PAD (sometimes 4 PAD) . . .

oh man 80/20 and menthol... just reading that is giving me a headache Ha Ha!

NO - NO - NO . . . "Your" mixing a very volatile combination there . . .

I only use a few drops of "Menthol Crystal Liquid"/"Kolada" in a carto/tank filled with flavored "E-liquids" like "Absinthe" (Taste just like Sambuca and not sweet at all) and "Black Licorice" @ 60/40 mix and then there is "Ry4" (very simple & not sweet) and "Cinnaman Red Hot" @ 70/30 mix, and the rest of the "E-Liquids" I have are 50/50 . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

No I have never tried DIY juices. I am kinda lazy and just buy it. Actually I am still looking for my go to juice. Maybe down the line I will try a little DIY juices.

Interesting contest...thanks

its actually pretty easy, just start slow and small one flavor at a time, takes months or more just to get lined out on what to do and figure out what you like.

2. What is your preferred juice pg/vg ratio

As i said earlier I prefer 80PG/20VG

I did some looking at the info for PG and VG. PG has a lower boiling point then VG by almost 200 degrees. To get a liquid to convert to vapor you have to get it to a temperature that will change it from it's liquid state to gas state. I can see why the clouders, and those running higher VG need the POWER. I believe that we can agree that VG isn't as good a carrier of flavor as PG, however, if I produce a lot of VG vapor it will give that "intense" flavor.
I run my tanks somewhere 7.5-8.5 watts. I usually have coils in the 2.1--2.3 ohm range. I went lower ohms and higher wattage but all I got was hot vapor.
But, once again, I want to thank the clouders that buy from our b&M store for subsidizing my juice cost.
