Great advice. I vape so much that I have had to go to very low nic out of necessity. But those stressful moments that come around are soothed by a blast of higher nic. I keep some 12 and 18 around and it has taken care of that stress craving right away.

When I first started I only had some basic egos and ce4s and evods, so my vape was pretty weak. There were a few months during that start period where I'd still smoke here and there. This tip to use the higher nic once in a while when I had that craving is what pushed me over the edge.

a few hits of 6mg on a nice rda and you'll get the nic fix you need.

You forgot to add, maybe two small spools of Kanthal. Maybe one in 30ga and one in 26 ga, plus a few of pads of Japanese cotton.

I wouldn't care about the pencil torch though. I'm thinking that people advanced enough to use a torch would already have most of what was in the kit, but people just starting would need the kanthal and cotton, but not the torch.

See for some of us you can leave out the cotton and the 26 gage, the smallest I go with wire is 28 and I can not vape with cotton wicking. I found this out the hard way and the rash on my neck area is still clearing up.

I agree Shawn. But every new area of vaping product that comes about right now is breaking new ground and we are the ones buying the products as the industry grows...so we bought the jig when that came out, the ohm meter when that came out, the various wicks when they came out etc. etc.... Now that vendors have all of this builders equipment to sell, it is only logical that they put it into a perfect kit. This falls under the heading of "new vapers have it so much easier than we did" LOL!

They don't have to buy egos or cartos and they don't have to buy their building kit items one by one. I'm glad I started vaping when I did...but it seems like today has such great products at such great prices that it is an ideal time to start.

I'd like to see a kit for builders that includes an ohm meter, a jig, flush cuts, pliers, tweezers, and a pencil torch - all in an easy to tote zippered case or lockable box. Did I miss anything. I see lots of kits... lots... but each kit seems to be just one or two items of being complete. For me, it's too late. I've already piecemealed my kit together and for my USRDA of irony, I store it all in a wooden cigar box. But for the next builder, a one stop shop would be nice.

The ECF community is full of amazing, generous and giving people. Love seeing things like this, it restores my faith, as they say.

That is a really nice pif!!

Thanks Deb! No, keep chatting or entering, we will miss you if you don't. You could do what Count is doing on another contest. If you win, it will be piffed to the next eligible post. For example, if you win, and the next post is Bruce or I, it won't go to us, instead it will go to the first eligible post below that.

How does that sound?

The hardest time I have had is after Thanksgiving dinner. The first Thanbksgiving after I quit smoking I ALMOST gave in and went and got a smoke. The family urged me to resist. Wife said "vape like a fiend". I did. The urge passed. What I do know is keep a small amout of juice one nic level higher and mini Protank to use with it. I'm vaping at 12 mg nic, so my craver killer is at 18mg. If I go lower on nic I'll lower the craver killer level too. It really helped me to keep vaping. You don't have to vape it for very long. Actually I sort of reminds me of the early smoking years and getting that nic rush when you hot boxed a smoke. Hope this might help a newer vaper to keep vaping and not return to the stinkies.

I remember an urge that I had when I was about three weeks in. I was still using my egos--and they had been doing well for me. But that one day the urge hit me and, when I stopped for gas, I decided to buy a pack. The only thing that saved me is that they were somehow out of my brand. I walked back to my car and went back to my ego...

I don't get strong urges anymore, but I know that if I didn't have my vape, there are enough triggers out there that would eventually snare me again.

Thanks for the info on the MVP joan. I like to open things up once they are "broke" too. I even got the micro trox screwdriver set so I could open dead cell phones and the granddaughter's nabe. The wiring is such small gauge it's no wonder that most wire failures is at the soldier connection. Soldiering wire in the 20-24 gauge range is an art form itself. With wire that small even the copper get soft and if you strain the wire.POP it breaks. I was never able to safe many dead ego batteries. if I got one wire resoldiered another broke in the process.
Bruce, this is a very fun contest. kathi is doing a great job as your helper. Thanks to all the ECF users for taking part too.

Nice Save count...that was a close one, but due to low inventory you prevailed!! Funny how stopping for gas or going to pick something up at the drugstore still makes me think of buying cigs!

I've been numbering one or two posts a day and just chatting on my others....does that work?

It exciting and cool to win a contest, but not necessary for my supply of vaping gear. The contests have opened me up to exploring the websites of different vendors, their particular assortments, and finding new ones I like, worthy of ordering from even if a dollar more on one or two items.

Yeah, I'll figure it out. :)

I've found every vendor I've ever ordered from through contests. I figure if they are giving to the ECF community, then they are worth supporting! :)

I've used silica and cotton, but not rayon or wire mesh. I prefer the cotton and have not had too much of a burning problem, unless I forgot to prime it. What atomizer do you use your wire mesh in? Is this for something like an rsst type?

There is still so much out there I haven't tried. It is easier for me to stick with what I know, but I do feel like I might be missing out on some great things.

2-21-2

Son tried me on cotton once... burnt it in under 3 minutes... no more cotton for me. I can burn rayon too. Silica not so much but I seem to do best with wire mesh :D

Snowing like crazy out there, think we have about 8 inches of new stuff already. It looks like we will get the 12+ they were talking about.

Third post for the day.
The hardest time I have had is after Thanksgiving dinner. The first Thanbksgiving after I quit smoking I ALMOST gave in and went and got a smoke. The family urged me to resist. Speaking of Thanksgiving, and the holidays in general reminded me of something.

When they first had the Great American Smoke Out, it was in April, just as good weather was starting, and people were spending time out doors doing yard work, and other out door activities, making it much easier to quit, or at least cut down.

It must have cut into tobacco tax money, because it wasn't too many years before they switched it to November, just as the weather was getting bad, and the holidays were coming up. That's when people go to a lot of parties, drink more than usual, and spend more time sitting in front of the computer mindlessly chain smoking. Smart move on their part to get more tobacco taxes!

HAhahahah!!! Stosh, I love that emoticon, it makes me happy to watch and I want one as a pet! Being in the warm south I feel for you all dealing with all the snow and I wish I could pif a whole load of sunshine to ya'!!

I know I shouldn't bring this up, but on Thursday I needed to run out to my local vape store to pick something up and I didn't go out because it was too cold. It only got up to 68 degrees and I was freezing!

Those of us further north would appreciate it if you would not PIF the snow this time....TIA.

Vaping is the closest thing to a magic pill to stop smoking. For the vast majority of smokers who are lucky enough to have someone to help them get started with good vaping products and advice, it is downright easy!

Great job on quitting Dave! I am amazed and thrilled too...even after all this time, it seems to simple!

It's better than the magic pill the FDA approved, because with vaping, you don't go out and commit suicide or kill your spouse!!! :D

I know you took them off your website, but if you still have them, I think your drip tips might be a nice option...

I agree. Bruce has the best drip tips at the best prices I've ever seen. That brass and glass one is the one I had in the picture I posted of the Big Buddha on the ego 650.

I really want some more of his tips!

I do know why he took them off though, they were slow sellers, and he was out of space on his website, but I wish they would come back!

I have all of the tips in your post, and I love them all!

My first thought was "please tell me that is not true"!! But, come on - it sounds like something right out of their playbook. The lengths that industry went to and still goes to in their evil pursuit is astonishing.

It is very true that outdoor activity and good weather can make a big difference in quitting. The days go by faster with all of the added activity, plus something about the sunshine helps too. Compare that to staying cooped up in the house in freezing, dark weather and it is obvious which would cause me to smoke more.
