I guess I understand more now regarding battery boxes vs. sealed mods. That said, I still don't understand the pricing. I can get an istick 30 for around 40, and the sigelei 30w mini is also around 40, but you have to spend another 20 before you can use it... much more if you have to get a charger, too.

On another topic and back to the what I want to see in the store. An o-ring kit with replacement o-rings for basically any tank. I have several now, and one is leaking, but I can't eadily find o-rings for it. Should I just head to the hardware store? Will rubber o-rings even work or do I need silicon or...?

you must be getting a good price or buying from me for those prices,
since they only hold 1 battery each it would be $8 to $10 more for a battery but of course you should have a spare ha Ha!

Stosh... I don't think I got into the over flavoring thing much when I started DIY. I know some get upset when you follow the recipes of another and not create your own but felt when starting out, that was the best way to go... Spread my wings later in a way. I ran across recipes from HeadInClouds (HIC) and most are what I thought might be quite low in flavorings but made to recipe the first time and they were good as they were for the most part. I have adjusted flavorings in a couple but not by very much, always doing as written the first time. I tend to get scared off by some with super high flavorings in the recipes and if looks like something I might like, I will take the ones that have over 20% flavorings and only use half of what they call for and see if that works or not. Most times, that is even too much but then some flavorings are more potent than others but figure if I do half of the flavoring, I can always add more.

My son seems to like his Cap Vanilla Custard at about 12% or so but that is down from the 15% originally called for in the recipe. If I make a custard vape for myself, I use the custard at about 8% and then use cheesecake to mellow it out because to me the custard is really sweet and can have a bitter taste at high percentages if alowed to steep for a few weeks.

I think following recipes is a great way to get started in DIY. It lets you see how different flavorings work together, and you can easily adjust those recipes to suit yourself. :)

I've been batting it around and can't figure it out

6+3= 9
1+1=2

So is it the 9th person who posted wins 1st place
And the 2nd person who posted wins 2nd place

Or the 92nd post wins, or the 369th and the 112nd post wins or add them together and the 481st post wins

Lol.....I have no idea what the answer is

ok, I guess its time to answer the math quiz.
I had mentioned on another attempt to relate the equasion to vape... your all gonna kick yourselves or your going to say how silly but...

6+3=3 think nicotine  < Edit oh wait I flubbed that one up a little bit... more like 4.5 depending on X

1+1=.5 think ohms/coil

get it, got it, good! Ha Ha!

you've got to know your vape math

Batteries bother me in box mods. I know they shouldn't. I know that's where box mods started. But I have a hard time taking the Sig or the K-box and a host of others seriously when they want as much (or more) for the empty box as Eleaf wants for a sealed system. I suppose that replaceable batteries means that the hardware will outlast the battery...

Alright, you vaping pros, why should I choose an empty box over a filled box?

Because, as you said, the mod will outlast the battery, plus, you can carry a spare set or two for times when you can't be near an electricity source. (I've had that problem with my MVP when we were spending a week up in the woods of Maine without electricity. We weren't always near the truck, so I couldn't always plug in). When you can plug in, you can always vape while plugged in if you need to.

It's the reason I haven't been interested in the newer MVP or the iStick. I really want devices that take regular batteries.

I agree. It's difficult to know what to recommend to new vapers. I used to recommend a spinner or twist and a Protank mini, but now I think I'd recommend an iStick 30 watt and a Subtank mini. The iStick and Subtank mini would be small and simple enough so it wouldn't intimidate them, and both the device and the Subtank would grow with them.

I totally agree with the I stick. I wish I could've started with something like the ii stick instead of the generic evod and small tank for it although the total cost for that set up was only $20, I would've rather spent $50 or $60 on a better battery. If I remember correctly, I walked into the vape shop shortly after it opened in our area not knowing what to expect. They were very nice but didn't show me different choices. They let me try different juices and I walked out of there with a total of $50 ....4 bottles of juice and the evod combo. I was impressed enough that I stuck to it but I didn't realize there was something much better out there. I went back for juice numerous times and they never showed me anything else. I still don't like the setup I have but the vv sure made a difference. If they would've let me try different set ups or explained what they do in the beginning, I would have picked something different but there whole counter was set up with the cheap evods for the beginners. I went into the shop thinking I was going to spend $100 to get set up.... 2 cartons of cigs...so I think what you suggested is good...even if they didn't get the sub ohm tank right away for the I stick, they would have the choice to get it later on. The variable voltage and nautilas tank changed everything for me, I can imagine it is just going to get better with variable wattage. Even if I wouldn't have the sub tank right away at least I know I'm going in the right direction.

I love everything red. I finally got my kitchen aid mixer at the Holidays and I got the red one! When I first saw the Subtank with the red rings I knew I had to have one just for the red haha! That it is probably everyone's favorite is just a bonus :p

Yeah, I saw a Sigelei box mod in red, and it was gorgeous! I also wanted the E-mech in red, but that seems to be a hard color to find.

my only problem w/the iStick 30 is that it has the same size battery as the 20 so use @ higher power would consume the battery charge rather quickly. IMO the iStick 50 would be a better choice my :2c:

My internet judt went out for a bit :( Actually it was weird...just the wireless part. My computer (wired to my Internet box) it is not wireless so it worked. I just wanted to let you guys know.....just in case I win tomorrow and my internet goes out and I have no way of accepting my winnings! Lol

I worry about the same thing with my flaky internet, and also with our storms and power here. Don't worry Ducky, I know that you are paying attention, and that if we didn't here from you right off, that it meant something happened. :)

plus, some of those usb ports can be hard to get the cord into, so I'm afraid I may mess it up.

Yeah, I messed up the USB port in my E-Mech. It was plugged in, and my husband knocked it off the desk, and now the USB port doesn't work. It's okay though, I just take the batteries out and charge them in the charger. I wouldn't be able to do that with my MVP.

The only problem with pulling the batteries on the E-mech is you have to reset the clock/calendar every time you do it.
I like my E-mechs.

TY for the details. I am on the fence about making a move to 26650 devices just because I would need new sized batteries and charger, so I was hoping that the Maraxus, which is 18650 would be the front runner. Love the way both devices look, though - and want one!

If you have an Intellicharger, even their older i2's and i4's will charge 26650's, so maybe a lot of the others do as well?

For cool looking devices, the Flip V3

Flip%20V3%20%281%29.jpg

really is a much better device than the Maraxus, and it use any size of the 1800's series batteries.

It's much easier to use in my opinion, it feels better and fires much more easily.

Kanger Subtank Mini
With all the raves about it, I might like to try it. The one negative I have heard is it goes through juice quick! But isn't that a function of power and vapor production?

I'm a low watt vaper, usually below 9.5 watts. I'm not sure if this is for me. Maybe I'm better off with something not sub-ohm?

Mine works great with the 1.2 ohm coil on my MVP 2.0. I like it better than the Protank 3 on there. :)

Yep, I agree with you Ladybear, this is been a wonderful contest to be in. I'll take this time to thank all who participated and made it so worthwhile. Kathi and powerband should be commended. I am glad I learned about Cactus and will keep the site bookmarked too!

Thanks Mark, thanks so much for participating, too!

So I just went thru around 140 more posts and now my head is spinning again. I shouldn't be trying to comprehend this stuff at 6:40 AM ( current time here) and I've been at the office since before 5:30. Get to leave at 1:30 though.

My son said Okinawa is beautiful ... He was stationed there when he first went into the Air Force. At thr time, he was single and enjoying the whole ambience of the island..
