Random vaping Thoughts - :2cool: :2c: Just to mix things up!

I've never really been a mod wrap fan. The one I bought looked great, but I had a lot of trouble getting the wrap on with my shaky hands and poor eyesight. I peeled it off to re-attempt one too many times and it started to lose its ability to hold the wrap, so I gave up on it. I never really minded because I like the looks and feel of the mods I use, but last night I noticed a nick - scratch along the side of my svd, which is kind of a bummer.

This has been Random vaping Thought :toast:

did you buy wraps for it?
I hear people using shelf paper...

Yeah, I'm going to order batteries when I order the mod, too. They aren't quite as boring if you order something fun at the same time!

a new mod needs a fresh new battery.
Lately I have been changinhg out my batteries at the half way mark on my device (when I can or I remember) meter rather than run them all the way down

I've heard good things about this:

IPV mini

1424583097447-1013955066.jpeg

they are popular, went to order a few more this morning and they were sold out as was the sigelei.
the sigelei goes down to .3, the IPV down to .5 on these sizes. unheard on devices of several months ago

Thanks for the laugh, that was good!

Is it crazy to think that this actually gave me ideas? Must have my flavor injector (adjustable of course)!

With all of the 100+ watt mods on the market and no end in sight, how long before your prophecy becomes reality? In 3 years vaping scholars will look back on your text as the first written formula for the new brand of Ultra-Mods and you will be spoken of with great reverence!

been seeing a shift in use comments around here (arizona vape scene) that the 30 to 60 or 70 watt mods are becoming more prefered as people are rarely using the 100 & 150 watt mods above those ranges

It is much more comfortable in the hand than the Maraxus. You pretty much hold it by a large expanse of the smooth part, and the ridges aren't sharp. It's really a heavy and solid feeling mod, and it won't tip over on the table.

I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone who wants to stealth vape though, it's a monster!

It can also be used as a striking or throwing weapon :ohmy:

I think the screw-adjustable pins sometimes turn when a topper screwed/unscrewed in--which kind of defeats the purpose, if you ask me.

I believe you are right about that. I have experienced that a few times myself.

I stopped caring if my tanks sit flush on my mods some time ago. (I know some people down here that obsess over it and constantly adjust stuff up and down)
one thing I never do is screw anything down tight just slightly snug.
with atty screws I dont twist them down super tight either.

heard and seen so mant people stripping out atty screws and holes etc. and then taking them to a shop to have them drilled out and retapped.
used to work with guys that would godzilla grip stuff down really tight only to come back behind them and deal with their obsession Arggg!

Hoping this will mean the 20 watt mods will go on clearance.......I find 10 watts, with a good 1.5-2.0Ω coil with average air flow and good wicking gives me as big a cloud as my 75-90 ring cigars ever did in my past life....

The screw adjustments vs. a spring loaded 510 connection is a result of the increased power in the mods and limitations of the materials and design.

If a spring loaded connection is passing the current through the spring it can add unwanted resistance to the circuit, as the spring becomes part of it. This requires the material the spring is made of be able to withstand the high current imparted, while still having enough springiness to operate. High current, low resistance materials such as copper or gold are soft, no spring....tougher metals would have higher resistance and could heat up as much as the 0.3Ω coil you put on it.

The screw adjustment is the easy answer to provide a good contact and still be able to handle higher power, lower resistance coils. It would be technically simpler to provide a high wattage output if you use a 18-24 volt supply and much higher resistance coils than are currently used. Unfortunately this is not an option using the current crop of 3.7 volt batteries for size or weight.

also the spring material will soften with the constant heat cycles and cause it to become out of adjustment. when I built a few box mods I built thme with spring loaded 510 pins but the power wire went directly to the contact of the 510 eliminating most of the current thru the spring

I just love these. I would love to have a pink one. I used to not be a fan of pink, but now I love it.

Yup, those are the higher priced alternative, tougher for assembly during manufacturing, a screw adjustment is the cheap, easy alternative. I've never gotten into the "eliminate any gap" crowd....much rather a beauty ring that is adjustable to snug up the topper, and ignore the gaps between the ring and the mod.

I think I need some higher oHm replacement coils for this......my batteries are not enough to make it go after a few hours(3-4 hours on fresh batteries).....do they make them in a 2.1 or 2.5? If so that's what I need.....since I use my own modbox I can have the batteries last all day with the higher oHm's..
Kanger Mini Protank 3

It works great, I have the air intake set at low and I am getting great hits....although the flavor isn't as strong as the mini Unitank....
